Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us Realism. But thanks for your input.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us I think we have a fighting chance tomorrow, that's the beauty of the FA cup.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us I hope we win, Mario. It's not impossible. The lad further up who I just responded to, is one of the first on here to denigrate what we're trying to do this season, hasn't been impressed at all with our players/displays. Yet he doesn't agree that whoever Boro select ought to be expected to beat us comfortably? If we play to our best, every player out there, we can give anyone a game. With the other team off form, bits of luck etc, owt can happen. See 2008. But aye, I expect em to beat us. And comfortably.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us They have a championship squad we have a div 1 squad they should beat us.j Hopefully factors within the 90 mins prevent that but if not there's no shame if we give it 100% imo
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us Yup like I would expect say Tottenham to beat Rotherham or Leeds or Millwall whoever they selected.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us I'm a big believer in that the Cup competitions give us a chance to flush the League out of our system and play with some freedom. I'm also a big believer in that you have to earn the right to play, and to do that, we need work ethic all the way through the team. Personally, I think we are too lightweight in midfield and with no Winnall, too lightweight up front......so I expect a Boro win.....but I still demand work ethic for the full 90 mins.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us I have posted errr....... realism. For the most part we have been average at best, and at home even less so. That's realism. But anyway if it's realistic for you to expect our first team to be beaten comfortably by Middlesborough's second team, then who is doing the denigrating? You can trawl back through any of my posts and try and find summat that fits your agenda, but i can save you the trouble. It boils down to my posting something that disagrees with a post of your own. Your last excuse when I posted my disagreement, was that you were immature. But anyway, I do not agree that Boro should beat us irrespective of who they play. And as for beating us comfortably.......what faith you have in Danny's squad so far assembled!! A team that cannot give Boro's second team a game. Who is impressed with what we're doing at the Well? Who is so taken by the players and displays? You obviously aren't. Otherwise you might not need luck/ off form /playing to our best just to beat Boro's second team. Boro. At home. I think beating them is realistic.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us They won't play their reserves, or second string. They'll give the likes of Woodgate, Whitehead, Kike, Tomlin etc a game. They're very good players at Championship level. Whoever he selects will be - on paper - better than our lads, man for man. They'll be comfortable favourites for the game, whether they go with Kike, Bamford, Vossen or Tomlin up front. If they don't pick Adomah, they'll pick Reach. No Clayton? They'll play Ledesma. No Woodgate? They'll play Omeruo or Gibson. They've assembled a quality squad at that level. Luke Williams has just returned from his loan, he tortured us the other week. Rhys Williams could play, he's back from injury and an Aussie international and highly rated. He's Ryan Williams' brother I think. I go into the game tomorrow expecting us to lose, comfortably. That isn't because I don't rate our own players or manager, or have issues with them. It's just realistic. We could possibly have two teens at full back, and one up front. We're 16th in League One. We're without a few key players now. Our home form isn't great. I think it's realistic to expect us to go out tomorrow. I don't have an agenda, and I have no vivid recollection of our conversations in the past. Sorry. I merely stated I was being realistic, and thanked you for your input. You seem a bit angry..? I have no problem with you disagreeing with me. Why would I? It's a forum for opinions. I merely gave mine, you've disagreed with it. Great. It's the fact you didn't merely disagree, you assumed my opinion made out I lacked ambition, had low expectations etc. I expect 100% from my team. But I 'hope' for a win every game, I hope we smash up the division we are playing in, I hope we win the Champions League one day... I have more faith in this squad assembled by Danny than most who seem to post on here. I back the lads 100% at Oakwell/away. I already view Hourihane and Winnall as two of my favourite players to have played for us. I think they're brilliant, as players and personalities. They remind me of the sort of lads I idolised when I first watched the reds in the late 80's. But I still expect us to lose tomorrow to high flying, Championship side Middlesbrough, at home. Soz, pal.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us Well ........Boro played a decent side. So my moan at you about our expectations ended up being neither here nor there. Having been there, my expectations for us in any game from now on have been lowered (with a drooping lower lip). And Hourihane was shockingly bad. Tell him to get stuck in. We did lose, comfortably.
Re: Imagine that, a team 4th in t'Champs reckon they are better than us As expected, pal. We move on.
