    Nobody knew about Mowatt when he signed. If anything Benson has a slightly better pedigree.

    Big Val got us to the playoffs not Mowatt, If big Val was still here we'd all be dreaming about promotion again, hardly anyone fancied us for promotion on that recent poll on here.

    Mowatt who had 12 goals for Leeds and had won player of the season twice. Are you sure mate? He was Hourihane's replacement.

    Wasn’t that for the under 23s though? I’m not saying Mowatt was rubbish, I thought he was brilliant for us eventually, but he didn’t inspire much confidence in his first year.

    Agree with you on that. Mowatt is class. We will miss him. He spent 4 seasons with us. I wish him all the best and will give him a warm welcome.

    agree completely, but I do think that Benson has a better starting pedigree. Of course I will probably be proved wrong, but Benson appears to be a like for like replacement for Alex, but only time will tell.

    Mowatt got us promoted, kept us up against the odds and then to the playoffs. He barely missed any matches.
    Edit. Having said all that I obviously wish Val had stayed.

    Yes, I liked Mowatt and certainly couldn't understand the criticism sone gave him under Struber.

    No, not at all, I am very excited by this signing and I think he is the Alex Mowatt that we all thought we had signed originally. From what I have seen in pre season he looks composed and in the same mould as Alex, but a bit more advanced, if that makes sense

    Do you honestly think we can afford a proven Championship midfielder? What would that cost...5m? 7m? 20k a week? Not a chance

    I've not seen Benson but Burnley fans seemed unanimous in their praise of him and disappointment that he's gone. Also very much sounds like a set piece taker.

    I'm just happy to give him a chance
