Anyone think billy jo saunders has a chance against canelo? Anyone getting up to watch?
Staying up for it 100%.
Does he have a chance? Not really. But he's got the best record of any fighter Canelo has faced since GGG and is in phenomenal shape. He's also never been hurt and is a really skilled boxer. The flipside of that is he's probably got one of the worst boxing CVs of any undefeated world champion with his biggest win being against a slow and overrated Lemieux - but he did box his head off for 12 rounds.
Canelo on points, fairly comfortably, after a decent first 4/5 rounds that are even.
Canelo by stoppage for me , too much of a step up in class for Saunders
Ring walk time estimation buddy?
Christ. I'll be hanging by a thread by then.
I think it's more competitive fight than what most think.
Saunders will be stopped. I bet the 70,000 in attendance cannot wait.
I cant see billy jo knocking him out the only chance he has is to out box him and move, does he have the legs to do it for 12 rounds im not sure but he looks in the best shape I've seen him. Will take some performance to get the decision over there. A late canelo stoppage or canelo points looks a good bet to me. Maybe saunders inactivity could hinder him his last bout was against a past it martin murray and has been inactive in recent years. I'll be getting up for it.
I’m gonna have to go to bed in about an hour or il have no chance haha no way I’m missing it though can’t wait
Cancelo all day long, but I've got a strange feeling the Fury camp have something up their sleeves.
I like Saunders (as a boxer) and I think he's underrated, however - after seeing Canelo embarrass Callum Smith in his last fight - I don't give him much chance.
Callum Smith was done with Super Middleweight by that fight though and he knew it. I don't think he'd ever beat Canelo anyway, but he just set out to survive. I'd even go as far to say he cashed out with that one. Be interesting to see where he goes at Light Heavyweight and what he looks like next.
Saunders is good we just don't know how good because he's never fought anyone. I think he'll make life difficult, but when you look at Golovkin, Danny Jacobs, Lara, Kovalev, Cotto, etc. they're all a level or two above anyone BJS has ever faced. But you don't know how good someone is until they step up and I think he's a live opponent for sure.
When he fought kolalev I thought he would be too big and strong for canelo but what did I know. I expected more from smith against canelo with the size difference like you say he just went to survive I think he could have done more. Canelo has been great to watch over the years though.
Saunders to get on his bike and frustrate only to lose on the cards a fight he should have won.
I honestly think that here in the UK we don't really appreciate how brilliant Canelo is. His skillset is just awesome, but most people just see the odd highlights here and there and points wins rather than KOs.
He says he wants to fight in England. If he did I'd be right at the front of the queue for tickets. Only issue is we're running out of British opponents!
I'm expecting canelo to win comfortably. he's phenomenal. would love to have seen prime canelo against Mayweather. Mayweather outclassed him when they fought, but that was very early in his career
Agree, possibly the re match in UK depending how saunders does tonight
What sort of character is this Saunders?
