Guess it makes sense that we tried to bring Isted in now it’s probably be known for a while that he was going to be off this season anyway.
Why is he bound to be second choice there? Ben Wilson is hardly Lev Yashin. Why would he be bound not to be second choice here? He got injured and was never reselected despite errors from his replacement, why would he assume he’d play if he stayed? You don’t know that it’s anything to do with money - he might actually back himself to get a game and perform to a high standard. He’s done nothing wrong at this football club and deserves to leave with our gratitude. I had no issue with Duff not bringing him back in when Isted was playing so well, but I think it was a kick to the teeth for Collins when Isted started making errors consistently and was still not recalled. Would he have still left if he’d been recalled and played the end of season games? We will never know. Maybe not. We also don’t know that it was him driving the move. He has one year left. The club might have touted him around.
I agree with most of what you've said but equally we don't know for sure that he has done nothing wrong. Maybe he was expressing a desire to leave or grumbling that Isted was keeping the number 1 spot. I don't think that was the case but we don't know for sure as so much goes on behind closed doors. If he leaves I'll wish him the best of luck for the rest of his career, genuinely no issues with the lad. On the other hand, if he stays he'll get my full backing.
So many places announced that it would be confirmed yesterday and it wasn't. Good luck to him because after the season Coventry have just had, it's gonna take a lot for him to be used more than Walton since his move to Luton.
I doubt it. He's a third division back up keeper and we lessened his worth by playing someone else's keeper.
