Bull ****. Walton Conceded 31 in 24 league games 2020/21 2021/22 team conceded 78 collins played 39. Conceded 3 or more in 6 games. Walton played towards the end when the defence had given up hope. Or doesn't the defence contribute to stats. Goals conceded.
The fact that you're not basing this on today's game is what I find the most strange if I'm honest. Collins has barely put a foot wrong all season. I'd even argue that he had little to do today to be fair. The first was a penalty, the second was completely Cundy's fault, and the third was an incredible team goal.
I reckon if we put Walton in goal we would be returning for this kind of question for one more than the other.
You will just have to trust me on that one it's a thought I had for a while just thought I would throw it out there see what other people's opinions were.
Where do people get these appearances and goals conceded stats from? I can find bugger all in my searches. What I was looking for was the number of games won/lost vs appearances for each player
Miles better than Walton last few times Walton played he looked poor but everyone gets better when there not playing.
The third was an abomination of lackadaisical defending displaying the fact that not one of them gave a flying **** about conceding another goal. Or getting within five yards of the man in possession.
Last few times. Care to expand. 3 proper games this season. (Discounting papa John's for obvious reasons) Conceded 2 goals Won 3. ?
This is turning into a bit of a Monty Python Romans moment for me. Ok then, apart from Stoke away, Coventry at home (any others?)......what has Brad Collins ever done for us with penalties?
I think our forward players looked beaten, which put unnecessary pressure on our back line, which looks incredibly flimsy without Andersen in it. Either way, that goal couldn't be attributed to a Collins error.
He could maybe have gone in with his hands to initially claim the ball. If he'd not made it, he would've conceded the pen, but not be sent off, with the double jeopardy coming into play because he's going for the ball. But what on earth is Cundy doing?! The mistake is bad enough, but his reaction to it is the most disappointing thing. On Collins in general, not sure there's a great deal he could do about the goals conceded. I do wonder if his positioning in the lead up to the penalties against Fleetwood and Bolton could've been better. But that would be hyper critical, and given how much I know about goalkeeping, more than likely wrong.
Give over Collins is at the pen spot when cundy sells him short with a 2yard pass. Like the other poster says he could have gone in with his hands but he is more at risk of conceding a pen. When he does kick the ball cundy turns his back and stops any involvement in the situation. A very very bad video of cundy that
Cundy is a rabbit caught in headlights. Panics and tries to block off the striker, and even makes a mess of that.
