Re: Check this for a picture Ok, at the risk of being over pedantic I will make one more comment. The Bradford paper says ALL the money is going to the Burns Unit, which is clearly not true. I'm not saying they should mention the name of the other project but they could have at least said "the funds raised will be split between the Bradford Burns Unit and a nominated Barnsley charity". It wouldn't have hurt them to say something like that, surely. All credit to them for mentioning the walk in their paper but a little more accuracy would have been nice. But then again, it's a newspaper and newspapers don't always use all the facts. Some don't use ANY of them!
Re: Check this for a picture I'll make one more comment too. A lot of people on here, WSB and BFCST did a hell of a lot to contribute to a successful weekend. I don't live near Barnsley, so the helpful part of me decided to ring my local rag. They called back on a number of occassions, I spoke to them for probably an hour. I ensured that a photographer would give us a bit of exposure. I told them EVERYTHING I knew about the walk and even got them in touch with Liam Dyson as it was HIS gig as far as I was concerned. I just wanted Bradford exposure. I discussed: in no particular order. BFC, my allegience / why etc, BFCST, WSB (in depth - including sharing it's history and all CAUSES), Chesterfield walk, affinity / bond between Bradford / Barnsley. Promotion Day, Clint Marcelle, My Dad and Sister ............ as much as I could give to guarantee exposure. The one thing I can't do is guarantee which part of my conversations are going to be printed or in what context. They mention the walkers, they mention WSB. I apologise they didn't mention 'other causes' but they have limited space to print an article on what is essentially a Bradford City commemoration. there is a 2-page spread tonight. We might get another mention, and I apologise in advance if they take my words out of context and don't print the whole transcript. i still maintain it is not mis-reporting.
