    It is his local

Regardless of who he plays for the man can drink where he wants, despite what some on here seem to think.

Nudger its atitudes like yours that are the things wrong with Barnsley FC.

If Howard had been given a new contract this time last year, then he would not have been fooked off about it, BFC would still have a very good midfielder, JCR would not have spent all that time fookin about in the middle, we would have not had to go through another relegation battle(cant be certain of that tho`) and Simon Davey would not have got so much stick.

But because he was not offered a new contract when he was touted around for millions ,he got the titty lip on. Silly boy, but it could have been avoided and I dont give a damn about what you think about him as a person,Brian Howard was an asset to this team, without him we have looked piss poor too many times this season.

Fully agree Mark. Not sure how far off each party was away from the other on money for the new contract BUT the cost of relegation will surely be
more expensive than meeting Bri's demands in full.

Pretty certain there's no way we could have matched the money he's on at Sheff U.

BTW interestingly he didnt want to go anywhere else cos he's fallen in love wi Barnsley, the town, the life, the people etc. Despite being attacked online
    by keyboard heroes

pretty much all professional footballers are on the "gravy train"

due to the ridiculous sums being offered to the players, and to be honest who can blame them. there is little loyalty in the modern game and if you think anything different then you would be pretty shocked at the goings on "behind the scenes".

Howard owed us nothing and I would say every player in our team would have made the same decision had it been before them.

After talking to him myself, I know he was not asking for as much as Blunts are paying him.

He did not tell me how much , but that he is on more now than what he wanted to stay. There are a few players at Oakwell on more than what Howard wanted as well.
He likes Barnsley and cannot understand why players like JCR and Muller etc. want to live in Leeds away from the fans.

But it does not matter one jot now, because he does not play for Barnsley and we dont need him anyway, cos we have Diego Leon to take his place, or we could play JCR in the middle either,I am certain Barnsley wont miss Howard (doh) (doh) (doh)

It has nothing to do with how I feel about BFC

Footballers come and go all the time, be it to Sheff Utd, Man Utd, or Oxford Utd. But there will only ever be one Barnsley Football Club.

    I concur

He insisted on buying me a pint on many occasions.

    Certainly not tight anyway!

Poor lad's only trying to live his life, he doesn't need people like YN trying to hunt him down because he changed employers.

    Stop living in the past

I'd rather worry about next Sunday than how many drinks Brian Howard had over the weekend and where.

Wonder how many people would throw their principles away

if someone offered them another few grand a week more to do the job they love- especially those with a family. Sorry anybody with anything about them puts the welfare of their kids and wife first

    I agree

If my company's rivals offered me twice as much money I'd take it without a 2nd thought.
