So special to him he couldn't get away quick enough for the the De Dar £.
He can stop where he is.
He made his bed and he can lie in it the Judas.

Howard has done nothing since he left us and I for one doubt his commitment to this club.

Your view on Butterfield is irrelevant on this issue IMHO..........lol

I would imagine Howard is the type of player Hill would like in his team, the midfield "magician" who cold unlock opposing defenders.Alas I.m not sure we could afford him.

Howard is better than Butterfield at the moment

at least I think so although none of us has seen him play recently

Butterfield could well still improve to be more than just a decent player for us

Howard was wrong to go and he got too big for his boots but we could do with him back, I really think he would provide a missing element to what is actually a decent team for us this year

for fear of been accused of having another go at the club and the handling of a certain Brian howard, all i will say if id been in his shoes i would have done exactly the same has i couldn't stand davey and his tactics either enough said...so i guess that would make me a Judas to many without knowing the truth...life is too short to hold grudges

Whatever you think of him as a player Brian Howard has either got his head screwed on properly or employs a very good "Spin Doctor." He obviously realises he isn't "flavour of the month" at Reading but a good proportion of the fan base here at Oakwell worship the water he walks on. If that's the case why wouldn't he hint at a move back to somewhere he holds Hero status. The only problem is does he fit the Hillflicker player profile? I think no, so it probabley won't happen!

Lets offer him a L1 wage and see how much he would love to come back. I would have him mind.

Re: Howard is better than Butterfield at the moment

I would have him back in the side tomorow - he is the extra bit of quality we are crying out for - I am also a big fan of Butterfield but he is still young and we shouldnt be expecting him to control games - Howard, if he played as he did for us previously, can do this and also help bring Jacob on. He gets forward scores goals but also get stuck in and helps defend - this is exactly the kind of player we need and have needed ever since he left in the first place - he could do the job of Addison/Doyle and an attacking midfielder in one player.

    IMO like!

I half agree with you on this point HT. I think Butterfield is more naturally gifted than Howard and has a lot of potential to become a better player but he still has to realise that potential.

its not going to happen anyway so this is a pointless thread..

unless Reading (tight ship there) fancy lending us him, for free, or allow us to contribute 5% of his alleged 12 grand a week wages.. it aint guna happen.
id much rather we gave Clark, Reubenio, Rose and even Digger their chance.
or, maybe, these latest loanees can step into the shoes of an Hammy or Howard. we live in hope..
