    RE: I can't say I'm a fan of Sheffield

think youre missing his point mate because for every right thinking person who would'nt theres usually at lesat four times as many muppets who would ( esp on a Saturday night after a few beers) ergo it was asking a lot to expect to have a night out in Barnsley and not getting some stick and therefore after an aparently dire performance it was a daft thing to do ( Ok do'nt agree with the description used) but it was putting himself in an entirely predicatble predicament

absoluteley fecking ridiculous statement, what Howards done might not put him in a good light but how can it in any shape or form be excusable for anybody to have a swing at him!

So what you are saying is this..................

If someone knocked Brian Howard out cold in Barnsley on a Saturday night then you would not be able to understand why?

And thats after this guy has shown nothing but disrespect to Barnsley Football Club and its fans who have paid his wages

FFS..........its unbeleivable what some people say on here !!!

Hate is such a strong word for the terms you're using it in. Hate murderers, the war on Iraq, how political correctness as gone mad etc. Hating a place simply because it's local is daft.

RE: If you need to know why Brian Howard is a lovely person................its because

    * We did pick up but only briefly. Look at us now.

    * Yes he was **** and didn't earn his money. The same could be said for the other regulars involved in our **** run.

    * It's not the fault of Brian that Simon Davey didn't have a plan B for him leaving.

    * He's been positive about us. Where have you been? I've heard him talk of leading the team out at Wembley for starters and he gave bettering himself as the reason for leaving. It's not like he's slagged off Davey, his team mates or the fans.

    * He could have gone to Bristol City, but seriously who would play for them over Sheffield United?

    * Saying how good it is playing for one team, doesn't mean it was bad playing for us. You can enjoy playing for more than one club.

And if someone attacks him on a night out it's them not Brian who is the bell end.

If Howard took 6 minder types around the Tarn with him then he must be expecting trouble.
In that case his behaviour is provocative but that doesn't mean some dumb ass has to bite.
I suspect that they were mates who just happen to be larger than Bri.
Being a bit of a short arse myself I am usually surrounded by bigger guys when I am on the piss.

Howard has as much right to drink in Barnsley as anyone else. It may not the most sensible thing for him to to do so soon after his move but it is his right.

I think most of us are quite enjoying his struggles at United.

So, because he was, supposedly, with people bigger than him they were his minders?

Mark Beevers kid brother is a bouncer there, so it will probably get back to the Sheffield Wednesday dressing room what happened in Barnsley to a United player.

I've seen him in town before and not felt the need to go up to him. He's on a night out with friends so should be able to enjoy himself without being pestered by fans. Anyway he's usually got plenty of female company. Especially the time in Blah Bar.

You're ignoring the fact that he went on to say 'I suspect that they were mates who just happen to be larger than Bri.' He was quoting '6 minder types' from someone elses post. I'm fed up of people half reading someone's post and picking out what suits.

I did actually read that, but it obviously didn't register.

    My apologies Johnny

Don't you think that choosing to go out around a town whose team you used to play for but then kicked in the teeth by moving to their local rivals, is unnecessary and provocative? I would have thought a night out in Sheffield and a greasy chip buttie at the end of it would have made more sense!

I have no problem with him going round town, especially as he lives here, but surely he must know its not the brightest thing to do given the circumstances of him leaving Barnsley.

Bri if your reading this, most Barnsley people dont have time for Billy Big Spuds, ask David Hirst or Darren Gough.

I would suggest your better off going round Sheffield or Leeds.
