Bit of a difference between wanting a 50 year old Currie back and a 34 year old Hassell. Not that I want him back, that's just your assumption. I was making my own point, which was that I find it strange that we're supposedly interested in bringing back Howard who's not young and plays in a position where stamina/fitness matters. It's not like he's even been a solid, standout performer, week in week out in either League One or Two for the last six years. We're talking about a lad who thought the grass was greener and jumped ship to our closest rivals who has since seen his career go backwards, taking in numerous clubs who've got shut of him in no time. I say all that as a big fan of Brian for what he achieved here six, seven, eight years ago. I am not against him returning. I would support him as much as the next man. But as I say, I find it somewhat strange, somewhat confusing that we're open to recruiting him (experienced head) but couldn't offer Bobby a new deal. I'm entitled to that opinion, and whilst if I was honest I'd rather neither were here (I want to move on from the past) I take exception to comments such as yours. You don't like Bobby, don't rate him? Fair enough. Put that view across if you like. But don't make things up. Not once have I used this forum to suggest we bring back Bobby Hassell. Not once. I have therefore not harped on and on about it, have I? You ******* dumpling. I will however refer to Bobby, remark upon him, and post things Bobby related in the future because he's a Barnsley legend and I'm entitled to post (within the laws set out by Gally etc) whatever the **** I want.
He's part of our history, as is Bobby. That was my point. It's not like we're trying to bring Butterfield, Vaz Te or even Coulson back (players with age on their side who are doing well) is it? It's Brian Howard who has done the grand total of **** all since he bairned his way out of our club (and our pubs) and pitched up at the sty. I will support him should he return, but I thought we were moving on as a club. This wouldn't suggest so.
No wonder folk are unhappy. He's a creative footballer. We don't like them in these parts. We like runners and cloggers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Rather keep hassell than get Howard back all you misty eyed ****ers who long for the past accept it he's past it.what has he done since he left us,nowt accept drink a lot of beer.
Gets rid of bobby presumably due to age then brings in a player of so ilar age who's done nothing since he left? Not convinced, hope i,'m proved wrong
He's done nothing since he left us. Someone in another post says he's scored a total of 5 goals since then. He's not been able to hold a long term contract down anywhere and has been with numerous clubs. In his interviews Danny talked about getting some experienced players but surely we want someone who will appear regularly and actually make a difference. Howard was very good once, he isn't anymore. Move onto someone else Danny - please.....
I'll say it again. I literally have no fcukin clue what Brian fcukin Howard has done since leaving us, to even warrant a telephone interview.
I'd love it if he came back. He just needs to have a disinfectant bath first, to purge him of the stink of long-balls, elbows and greasy chip butties.
