The article states that the FFP rules mean that a club operating in excess of £8M, could have "financial penalties and transfer restrictions". I understand the transfer restrictions, that makes sense. But how do you fine a Club that is already losing money........sounds crazy to me? Bottom line is Brighton are cheating, they know they are cheating........the Football League MUST address it.
I think it's used more as a financial deterrent. Shows that the misuse of money is ot be fined more money causing more problems. I think it's a good idea to curb serious overspend
I agree. These clubs that are 'cheating' are chasing the premier dream. Can't imagine that a 'token' fine will deter the activities when the premier prize is so large. For those that don't make it, take Bolton for example. Already last week £120 million (wasn't it?) I'm debt, another couple wouldn't make much of a difference. Or here's an idea. Don't make the premier prize so attractive and spread the riches throughout the divisions more evenly?!? Yeah like that will happen!!! Sooner FFP is fully understood, fine amounts, points deductions etc etc the better. The sooner it's here all the better. Well for some anyway.
one of the best posts I have read on here in years I was one of those bucket collectors too. I would do it again if needed. But what you say is all completely correct. The greed has in fact destroyed the game.
Re: Ditto This thread is turning into a "**** the Premier League"........,and I like that......a lot.
Re: Ditto I agree though that transfer embargos and points decuctions is the way forward. Clubs near the top with £100m debt suddenly have 10 points taken off them. Might make them learn.
