the population is forecast to grow for another 40 years. from a growth of between 5 and 30 million people! birth rates are rising. where does the problem come in? is it just that there will be a higher proportion of older people?
national service should be compulsory as it is in other countries where between 17 and 21 young people should have to do a min 12months service
Right ok. It may not be a bad thing for society in general if people go into the workplace rather than spending three years getting intoxicated whilst supposedly enrolled to institutions that are meant for 'education'. I don't blame the kids for wanting to do it. But I fail to see the benefits except to the local drinking establishments.
To bring back National Service for the kind of people you mean would a good idea but in no way would the Professional armed forces of this country want to be lumbered with them a role would have to be found for these people, which would mean some kind of service which would be of benefit to all.It isn't viable in the present political climate.
University but for every university teaching truly academic subjects like those mentioned there are other institutions which deliver 'courses' of little use or benefit to the individual or society in general. These 'courses' appear to be a bear faced attempt by institutions make money from a Governement obsessed with stats and having large numbers of young people in 'education'.
Quality! This poll should be about something different in which case I would vote yes! I'm going to try that at the next election and write on my ballot paper - "I want fish and chips for tea"
it would remove all the chavs and learn some respect plus it could start some off with a trade who would never grasp the opertunity to learn
