No resentment here - massively grateful for his contribution these last few months. Given me, and more importantly my son, who was losing interest, a reason to get giddy about football again. I just look back at his tweets though, and wonder if he isn't making a big mistake. Money yes, but he's not guaranteed game-time there and I'd lay some serious coin that he won't experience the highs he's had this last couple of months. Just think it's a real shame.
This with bells on. Absolutely no criticism of Josh whatsoever who showed us 100% commitment (and just as importantly, 100% quality) throughout his time with us and helped us to two massive achievements. Never our player, no issue whatsoever with him going. Good luck Josh - excellent spell with us.
Bristol City's midfield consists of Marlon Pack and Korey Smith. He's hardly going in behind Xavi and Iniesta. He'll get game time there.
In terms of game time you've got to back yourself in this sport as you don't know how long you've got. He'll fancy his chances on current form to get in to that Bristol side and stay there. Any player expecting to experience the highs of the last couple of months regularly is probably on a hiding to nothing. If he was thinking that way, he's probably thought about whether he'll experience anything close to the recent highs again with Barnsley FC and probably come to the conclusion that he won't. Who's to say we even offered him anything to consider too.
Maybe we've got someone even better lined up? I believe there are more important members of last season's squad (loan players or not) that we could do with keeping. The lad did well and deserves a thanks from us all, and our best wishes, but nobody in football is irreplaceable. Good luck to the lad.
Been outstanding for us and I'll be surprised if he doesn't make it to the Premiership. A shame, good luck to him.
Not many players come to Barnsley and slot straight in and perform at the level he has, we usually get to see, far too often, their bad performances and to me he aint had any what you would call ***** games. He`s due some and Bristol will now get to see em in the higher league. I would just like to thank him for what he has done this haif season, he`s been a pleasure to watch and hev at our club.
I could name a fair few absolute shockers he's had, starting with Southend and Chesterfield at home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I thought he did really well for us generally. His long passing was sometimes astray, but he added a forward momentum that i thought Pearson often lacked and he had a calmness that Pearson most definitely lacked. I wish him well but I fear for him. Because of how Johnson tended to treat players, who upon his departure thrived (Davies, Williams, Mawson, Roberts, Hourihane, Winnall) I could easily see him having his natural game confused and dismantled. Would welcome him back gladly, but at the same time, I do think we might be able to do a bit better.
I juuuuust knew tha would reply. To listen to thee he aint had a good game for us. Thank God that that bee has now left thi bonnet and is on its way to Bristol. Amen.
