both equally I think. Not much between em. Wendys are overweight and racist mainly from areas like Parsons Cross, and othere estates in North Sheffield and places like Wombwell, Hoyland , Birdwell, Dearne Valley. Leeds fans are West Yorkshire goons , ex pit villages and towns such as Castleford, Featherstone, Normanton. Watched the match yesterday with a load in Barnsley who seemed to be ageing cluless lumpen type glory hunters who are a bit confused at the moment.
good fans really support your home team. Relative success since 1981 starting with Alan Clarke and a succession of good managers have seen successive generations of supporters associate themselves with the local team. Recent decades have witnessed a trend for local fans to shy away from supporting big clubs such as Man U and an identification of glory hunters as "no mark" individuals. Barnsley as a town is very strong on local identity which doesn't endear you to fans in other areas. Witness the support for Rotherham in their recent plight which wasn't there for Barnsley in your hour of need. Blades, ? What do you think ?
Most blades I've met are good lads, self depracating (spell check) and knowledgable about footie and other teams. I have mates who are blades, a lad called Bill who has gone home and away for 30 years, he used to really admire Barnsley until we were promoted. It wasn't the fact we were more sucessful it was that some of our fans became big heads. After the match at Oakwell in 96/97 he said 'why do your fans hate us so much' I have to say I didn't know .
I have very few friends who are washday, I find most of the ones I come across as arogant feckers, living on the past glories of Wembley trips.
I hope you do well in the Prem, as it is a victory for a well run club. It also gives us hope that we can achieve more through getting the finances right and having faith in our manager.
Dave
