Personally, I'm not bothered but my dad is 78.. he's been a ST holder ever since the East stand lower opened. They're aren't any spare seats in the area he sits in, nor have they been for years. Although he only ever sees the people around him on match days, he's known them years. All on first name terms, if he doesn't attend a match they seek me out further down the stand and ask if he's alright. In short they have their own little community. It will matter big time to them if they aren't sat together like they have been for a long time. Like I say, It won't bother me in the slightest, but it doesn't necessarily make it right.
Re: 'Unreserved? I have my reservations..... I'm a ST holder and have been since Alan Clarke era...........BUT...............I will not be going to Burnley FA Cup game whether it is unreserved seating or not. My "protest" here is that I am not spending any more money on a club (that I love) that is showing no signs of getting their act together either on or off the field. Please, nobody reply to this by stating we have a positive/profitable balance sheet, as this in itself, is not bringing any wider/tangible advantage to BFC .
I don't think that can be the reason or we'd have to print every ticket off for every game which i'm sure we don't do. As far as i'm aware all they do is print off tickets with seat numbers on when you buy at the box office and then on the day of the match they print off a small batch/block of tickets with numbers on for at the turnstyles. The only difference with unreserved (from an outsiders point of view) is that instead of a seat number they print off the same amount of tickets but with unreserved written on it which is actually more letters isnt it and therefore would cost more in ink? There must be a money saving aspect to it somewhere but I can't really work out what that is. Unless they aren't planning on opening all the stands so they don't want to allow people to have 'their' seat because west stand people for example cant.
Yeh, if you buy in advance from the Box Office, they will print you a ticket off and then on matchday will print off a certain number of tickets but not one for every seat so also struggling to see where the money saving is in this? If they did want to save printing costs, they should just say it's pay at the gate only on the day of the game with no tickets on sale in advance. Don't print any tickets off - supporter hands over £15 and they are in.
Paying £15 cash on the turnstile wont work - they will run out of fivers to give change for those handing over £20!!
