Assuming the answer isn’t to spend money we haven’t got - what do you think the answer should be?

At what point do we start giving the lads whi have come through the academy into the u18/21s. I'm sure it still costs quite a bit to run on a yearly basis and if we can't start blooding them in the league we are in what's the point of having it.
Not suggesting we fill the team with them but we need to start giving them a chance to shine

I genuinely don't get what the difference is. Whatever level you're at you start with a group of players similar in quality to the rest of the teams in the league, you motivate and organise them to get promoted.
He's done it, what? Four or five times.
That's not the definition of a journeyman. You might as well call Warnock a journeyman.

Oh, if it’s all the same then I suppose he’ll be up for the England job then- one of the most successful English managers in the country.

We'd best not buy any players from leagues below us then either a la Hourihane, Winnall, Roberts, Scowen, Pinnock etc then because they must all be journeymen rubbish too.

With a team who had no goals or points after 10 games. Would’ve been a miracle if he’d kept them up and he almost did, took it to the last game. More than happy to have him as our gaffer, just a bit concerned he won’t get the support recruitment wise that he was promised.

The elephant in the room comparing last season with this is the exit of Collins. The club finished in the playoffs in spite of his negative football. A manager with some attacking tactics would have got that squad promoted.

I honestly don’t think we’ll miss Cole and Kane.
Williams (as a wingback) and Cadden maybe will be missed but not irreplaceable. I think it’s quite telling that Cole still doesn’t have a club.
It will all depend on how Benson and Watters step up, if they fulfil their potential we’ll be ok. If not we’ll be struggling.

Totally agree. We often spend money on players that prove to be no better than our best youngsters anyway. So we might as well use or own, we might find some of them turn into proper L1 footballers, with the all important price/value for sale. James, Shepherd, Jalo and Yonganathan (sp?) in particular are surely at the point of needing football.
