Newcastle reserves player wages are probably double that of he current wage. Good luck to the lad, if he wants to stay good of him & I'll look foward to seeing him playing in a reds shirt again.

His head is somewhere else. We'd be better off with the money.

Could be influenced by the quality of the recent signings. Hope he stays.

    Hope he stays, great player.

I honestly think it will be for his benefit too from a football perpsective if he stays for another year.

He probably isn't been offered as much money as he hoped from Boro/Newcastle. Most footballers contracts are very heavily weighted in performance bonuses, win bonuses, league position etc etc, therefore if you are not playing often then you wouldn't receive a significantly increased salary, even at a bigger club. This becomes more of an issue if coming back from injury. I suspect the contracts he has been offered are low (relatively speaking) basic. Therefore, it may also make sense for him from a money perspective to stay at Oakwell, get another season under his belt and be in a stronger negotiating position next year.

Or it could just be his agent drumming up publicity, but everyone knows about his contractual position and have done for months, so I find this unlikely.

Great for the club if he stays and a credit to Keith Hill.

To be correct the ligament is much stronger after an operation! So there is less chance of it going again..... thing is, if it does go he'll never play again.
