Have a look on the kennel club website, u can do a search of the area, they'll give u a list of breeders which have dogs that have been born recently.

Thing is whats most worrying' you're right , folk should not get a DOG if they ain't a 1000percent Sure they can care for them?? Christmas is a real bad time for Stupid Folk ?THEM Who buy disposable Goods ' fair enough i do. But dont get tempted by a nice looking PUP....

 

DON't buy from a shop. Look on teh net for a breeder, and talk to several. Shop dogs tend to be abused, and have behavoural problems.

Consider a rescue - Dogs Trust (was Canine Defence League) are very professional in rehoming. There may also be a specialist rescue set up for the breed.

We got a 6 month old collie cross in June, and in the first 3 weeks, I nearly took him back every night. He's still not perfect, but is more good than bad ;-)

Be prepared to go to training classes, see if you can find a local dog training club. Makes a hell of a difference to you and the dog
