John MacDonald is another one of those semi forgotten players (a bit like Paul Cross too, who was also in the line up). Decent midfielder. Not Banger obviously, but made about 100 appearances & always put a shift in.

Caernarfon - the 'Welshiest' town in Wales - they're not too keen on the English there - something to do with the Castle that was built to keep the Taffs in order.
o/t Kieffer Moore's Welsh link is a parent or grandparent born in Caernarfon.

I was at the Aldershot game away, which they dominated for some quite long spells. I recall that Aldershot took the lead, but that Steve Agnew scored a brilliant solo goal with a run from the half way line, weaving in and out of defenders before slotting home. Biggest memory was the header from Martin Foyle, Aldershot centre-forward, which defied gravity to stay out. The header hit the underside of Clive Baker's crossbar, which put a back-spin on to the ball. The ball then hit the far post and the backspin took it into Clive Baker's arms. Talk about a let off. I have no idea how that ball stayed out of our goal.

‘Kill, kill, kill the bill’ was the chant. There was a bit of pushing and shoving under the low roofed terrace behind the goal.

i've got that in a kids size in the attic somewhere! My first ever barnsley kit. Didnt have the sponsors on those days though. Remember trying it on in the cabin behind the ponty middle of winter with the gas fire on!

I never knew there was a cabin on the ponty. Sounds primitive! I remember going into the club shop in the West Stand and Mrs Montague rummaging through all the (very limited) stock trying to find the right sizes. Happy days!
