What a fantastic event loved it. Well done Callum, Boxxer snd BFC. Hopefully though the person in charge of organising the food and beer selling resigns in the morning, totally inept.
A dominant, if not too exciting, win by Callum. Did what he needed to to get the straps. Chelli is an awkward fighter to pin down to hit cleanly, tended to fall in to wrap his opponent up. But it was a fairly easy night's work for Callum, the wide points difference on the scorecards were about right.
Chelli spent rounds 2 to 12 trying not to get knocked out after round one. Even at rounds 7 and 8 when he knew he needed to win rounds he still followed his lead with a dip under Callums arm and a hold till the ref split em. The score cards for once got it right and it's on to the next big thing for Mr Pride of Barnsley...UREDS
What an amazing night, not heard noise like that for a long time. It was on a par to Wednesday at home season before last and Walsall in play offs, my voice has gone this morning. Absolutely buzzing for Callum, watched it back when I got in and for a small town in Yorkshire we don't do bad do we.
Don't even need to do that. The shelf life of a keg would easily lend itself to still be fine for the first home game. Even if cracked open.
Spot on .. he felt the power of his punches in the first round and boxed on the back foot for the rest of the night .. if he’d started stepping in Callum would have stopped him
They are so far behind the times it won't happen, most clubs do light shows and other stuff to their stands to make it look better.
Leaving money on the table though. Why not open bottle bars / temporary bars. Why havent they got Molson Cours to provide a large order on sale or return. Theres another game in less than a week. Beggars belief that this wasnt anticipated.
We can't fill it for a football game, we wouldn't for a boxing match. Maybe have two stands open next time. First boxing match l've been to, I enjoyed it.
The problem with opening more stands must surely be that people would be too far away from the ring. It seemed to be very close to the ESL last night so a good view for at least half to two thirds of both upper and lower. It looked great on tv so no idea what the view was like there. I imagine big screens were used but if you have to rely on those you might as well watch it on a pub or home tv screen.
View was ok, I was sat between halfway and the 18 yarder, my only gripe was what was the point in the screens being alongside the West Stand, they should have been in the middle of the pitch.
