As far as I can see the opinions are unanimous in hoping he has a good Euros so we can sell for a decent fee. No ones suggested otherwise have they?

 

Probably due to the total lack of respect he shows his parent club and fans in interviews. Yeah we get it, you want to move on but show abit of humility.

 

Don’t think Sunderland want to keep him. Legend in his own mind. Average player.

 

Odd that we are talking about signing a new left wing back to replace Cadden and yet there is no mention of Styles, which makes you think that he does not see any future with us and has told the board so. There is no hint anywhere that he wants to be here. I guess that his best bet might be a move abroad, depending on his Euro performances. If he does well, there might be a European club side who would see him as a good investment. In some ways, therefore, I hope he does have a good Euro and gets some game time, as it will increase his value in the transfer market and will make it more likely that we will be able to move him on. A pity that we don't seem to figure anywhere in his plans.

 

Im sure we all do. The problem is that’s he’s not that good.

 

We could do with a left wing back and we’ve got someone who played his best football in that very position.

In an ideal world someone meets his release clause and we can strengthen off the back of it. If not, tell him to get his head down and play well for us, because if he uses his brain he’ll realise that’s his best chance of this mythical ‘big move’ that he thinks he’s owed.

 

Except he doesn’t want to play their unless it’s for Sunderland.

 

A lot of negativity on here against the lad. As far as I'm concerned he's been a decent player for us and we should just let him go. I wish him well.

It in center midfield he's been shocking and a passenger ever since. Even romal palmer was half decent under val.

Can't see him playing much in the Euros to be honest, not that I'm an expert on the Hungary squad.

Callum is easily one of the best wing backs at Championship level.
He was open about his international ambitions & it was way more about that than turning his back on our club.
He's a class act & would love to have him back if he can agree his role with Clarke & the club.
The only, but recurring issue is with his role ...with our current squad, it's imperative he plays wingback.

 

We will see how hungry he is at the Euros at getting clubs interested in himself.

 

Decent Euros and let's hope we get a decent fee for him.

 

Would have loved to have kept him but it’s obvious he’s pushing through a move. We might have to take a big reduction in his asking price if we want owt for him.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up back in the North West for a mid table Champ side for a fairly low ‘undisclosed fee’. I know over the last year or so, both Preston and Blackburn have been linked. Definitely suits the Blackburn system. Not gonna get anything like the £1.5 mill asking price unless he has a worldie at the Euros.

 

I’d sell him this summer for whatever we can get. Even £250k would be good business to get his wages off the books.

Its post like this that make him so overrated. He had one good half a season in the Championship under val after then he's done nothing we've gave him to championship clubs on a try before you buy deal twice and no one has come for him. If he was one of the best wing backs in the championship surely a team would have snapped him up by now I'm sure 500k and we would sell.

 

Don't see a future for him with us tbh, good luck to the lad, hope he has a brilliant Euros and we can bump up his transfer fee.
