There is a lot of hypocrital pearl clutching on this thread. We market ourselves to players as a developmental club who will help players progress and not stand in their way when a move comes along.

This approach will never create loyalty as loyalty is the last thing you want in a player trading model.

 

Not allowed to speak to other clubs without permission. Until 6 months prior to end of contract. Tapping up although illegal I'm pretty sure some rogue agents try it on.

 

Through official channels. We've all heard stories of players being tapped up by "friends" - former team mates and coaches - unofficially before there is even an official approach.

 

'Tapping up' is an old fashioned term mate. It literally happens all the time now, if you watch some interviews from professionals on it. Its mental but kinda just accepted now...

Think foreign clubs can offer him a contract at 6 months, domestic clubs at 3 months. Guarantee they'll have their dirty claws in him long before though!
