He scored 20+ in league one with walsall 2 season's in a row before coming here. And 8 in his 1st season in the championship hopefully will improve on that next season.
Reading start of this thread I thought we had signed him - or was just about to. But if the initial posts are ballax - then obviously the whole thread is ballax. But on this one I'm nearly sure it isn't.
Hecky doesn't rate Payne? When did he tell you that? Or where have you heard or read that? I haven't heard anything of the sort. I rate Payne - thought he was looking a real handful for defences before he got injured. Looks very powerful and fast. A fit again and up to speed Payne is going to be like a new signing.
I don't often find.myself agreeing with many of your posts but I do here. And imo hecky only sent him out on loan to get him competitive games under his belt after his injury.
The fact that we sold our best striker, didn't bring anyone in and still loaned him out. Tells you all you need to know.
According to Luton Towns Fans forum, the same source has reported that he's signed for us twice in the past already. I'd take this with a pinch of salt for the time being. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
That's not right... When Payne went out on loan, we had ONE recognised striker, and ONE striker come wide attacker.. So you are trying to say that with so little cover up front, a man that ...Hecky rates... Was allowed to go out to get games? Er one injury and Payne would have been first choice here... I say Hecky as seen enough to know he's not up to Championship football, and sent him out on loan to put him in the shop window for the lower leagues.... but he got injured so it dint work...either way I would not expect Payne to be here come end of Aug.. We shall see..
Bradshaw can't play up front on his own, he needs a partner. I think he'd have a decent season playing in a 2 up front. I really like the guy, not sure why! Payne could be 4th choice striker, but wouldn't expect to see him start the season as our main man Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alot of the time we played bradshaw up top on his own in a 451 which he played up front on his own for wallsall. I think he would be better suited with a partner but just because payne was sent out on loan doesn't mean hecky thinks he isnt good enough
At Walsall he had Sawyers roaming around behind him, but we didn't have anybody doing that job. It's a different game in League One, also.
So if you had so few options, why would you dismiss a potential option unless you thought said option wasn't good enough.
That would be very true - except you have purposely chosen to exclude the fact that the player had just come back from a long injury. Which makes your comment look silly.
I'm sure i read that we had a striker lined up in the Jan' window but the deal fell through at last minute, maybe that's why Payne was allowed out because we thought we had somebody else coming in, sithi.
Wouldn't you make sure though before confirming the loan? If you had so little options - in any position - you would keep hold of a player unless you were absolutely certain he would not play.
