    Maybe he thought we were being too quiet and wanted as much from the crowd as he'd just given (or was acting that way like any good entertainer)? It was a pumped up, chest beating, call to arms.

    You're probably right, I just wondered why he trudged off the field while all the other players were still celebrating? Probably because he was absolutely knackered after his fine performance.
