Got to look at the opposition and our own individual errors for that though rather than just the tactics. We’ve been dropping deeper to try and win the ball because of Derby’s width. We had so much success from interplay between our full backs and forwards last week. Nothing has come off today on that front and we’ve just given the ball away at almost every opportunity. Better going forward this half but individual errors still there. We might have played this way without conceding the second goal as it came so early and from such a soft mistake.
Agree our bench is poor but Gomez was actually one of the few of our players having a half decent game
Morris free-kick Gomes with a weak, weak effort that was a better chance than it seemed The Quina and Vita move deserved more but we don’t have bodies in the box for crosses unless it’s after a set piece
But he isn’t a player that’s going to help get you a goal. Not saying Oduor is either, but he’s attacking minded at least. I guess. Who actually knows.
A football scout or analyst would have a dream showing the amount of times we’ve given the ball away stupidly in our own half. Quina and Bassi in quick succession then, plus all the other times. You can’t get up the pitch just handing the ball back to the opposition in those areas. Some awful individual performances today - making Benson look competent and calm at the minute.
All ifs and buts, but I can't help but think the team was set up to play much deeper today. Fair play to Derby though it's looking like a fully deserved win.
All opinions. I just don’t see that and but do see far too many individual mistakes that have had us almost permanently on the back foot. Similar story with our weak as you can get bench too. All roads lead back to Summer recruitment…..
Just not looked anything like decent today. Deserve nowt out of this game which is bitterly disappointing considering other results and the team we are playing. Big chance missed today to gain some momentum.
