I thought he did ok as a caretaker manager (results not performances) but thought he had blown his chance over the xmas period. Was very surprised when they announced him after the dee dah debacle. I wasn't singing his name or owt but decided to give him a chance. Feel we have improved as a team and a squad and that so far he has done a good job. He has exceeded his goals so far and has made some good signings. Jury still out on a few players though.
RE: Bench players In view of their performances before and since those TWO matches, would you bet on either of them doing something similar on a regular basis?
The other players with Richards that night are still at the club, so was Reid and Howard, both still at the club. I think it was the way that Davey had a pop at Kay , that upset a lot of fans last year. He made Kay a scapegoat for the drinking , when in fact he was only a minor figure in that scenario. If Davey had said that Kay had to go because of the confrontations after training ,then I would have supported him more.
Certainly Devaney is exactly the type of player you want to see coming You kind of made sense (kind of) till your comments on bench players. Looking at our bench options now and assuming we have 3 attacking players there, pick 3 from Devaney Mossto Rickets Christenson Coulson Defensively Togwell Reid Hassell Kozluk Both groups of players that can make a difference, defensively or offensively, when coming off the bench
Are you confused or something Would Kay and Austin really plug the holes in our defence, where are these holes BTW?, better than Kozluk Reid Hassell Atkinson Van Homeot Atkinson Potter I liked them, you could never question their commitment, but championship calibre players they have proven not to be
