BTW Glav didn't & still can't drink. all he had when we went out was coke(the wet kind). On a pre-season trip to Scotland - Peter Price spiked his drink to get him pissed - he nearly collapsed!& never mind not going back to Celtic - he won't come back to Oakwell either(can't be persuaded!!)

    Signed from Celtic

He was an ever-present under Jock Stein but was out of favour with Billy McNeill.

There was a brilliant interview with Glav somwhere on t'internet.

He says that he never intended to sign but Clarkie had a beer too many and when Glav asked for silly money, Clarkie agreed so Glav had to accept it. He still didn't think he'd be at Oakwell long.

    Is he really your dad?

    lol.

I saw a bloke at Oakwell on saturday that made me really jealous, he was wearing a shirt with "4" and "GLAVIN" on the back. Ah the memories.

Something to do with other player's wives?

Trevor Aylott was one of the aggrieved parties as I remember.

I read somewhere that one day Mike Lester stormed into the dressing room, slammed his kit bag down and angrily shouted "What's all this about messing about with other player's wives?" (Or something like that). The room went silent, then he said "Why wasn't I invited?".

Don't know how true it is but its a classic.

Incidentally Mike Lester reminds me of another match I should have included on the all-time best away games, it was 1980/1 season, we'd reached the 5th round of the FA Cup and were drawn at 1st Division Middlesbrough. Apart from the first 20 minutes when we conceded 2 goals, we completely dominated the game, Mike Lester scoring a cracker. Me and my dad somehow managed to get in the wrong end of the ground and a few Borough fans said we were the best team to play at Ayersome Park that season except for Liverpool.

Some of the "threats" from Farnham are excellent.
One involving the infamous Johnny Coachman is a work of art.

I think, at one point, I was a bit of a handful.
