    You think they were going to shut the centre of town off on a Saturday afternoon? What do you reckon the reaction of all the local shops and businesses would have been? As opposed to 6.30 on a weekday evening when the place is far quieter?
    Do you think they should have got on the phone to the police and council and said, ok we want Saturday as long as the weather's going to be nice. Bit of mizzle though and we're putting it back til Sunday.
    You really are unreal sometimes.

    I’d say retailers in town would welcome the news.
    More people in town.
    Only bit of road to close would be along the side and front of the Town Hall.

    Weather forecasts more than a day or so in advance are very unreliable. So that's put that question to bed.
    The tour de Yorkshire had disrupted the town centre on Friday,
    Wednesday a nice quiet time to celebrate..
