We're not talking about extending the stadium, extending a stand and building a smaller West and doing something about the corners. Wouldn't really change much about the overall capacity. Read the OP or the rest of the comments. Suppose I was waiting for this type of post...we all know we don't fill it but another dimensions stand in the other corner adds boxes not a thousand extra seats.

Sorry mate, don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Oakwell looking more like a modern stadium and I hear what you're saying about making minor alterations, but absolutely no work is going to be done on the stadium for the foreseeable future at all. We've reached the point whereby when the heater in the disabled stand broke last winter it didn't get fixed.

If things don't need doing, and whilst the crowds remain as low as they are the ground doesn't need changing, they won't be a priority. Like I say, the West Stand would be closed and remain empty before it would be rebuilt. There's plenty of space to house the season ticket holders from there in the rest of the ground. They're also not going to start building more boxes when they struggle to fill the ones we already have.

To be honest though, I'd be sad to see the old West Stand disappear. I think it's the oldest stand in the league and dates back to when Barnsley had the lowest seats to capacity ratio in the league.

Where would you put the Sky box for when we are on TV?

Next to the tunnel? In the corner between east and north? In an area of the 'dimensions' stand? In the half empty west stand? In a box in the east stand?
    There are many options.

I'd rather us one day have a West Stand looking the same as our East Stand, then I would more seats put in the Ponte.

What has that got to do with where the sky box would go?
By the way I agree, if a new west stand was ever built it would be absolutely stupid and short sighted in the extreme to waste money building a 4,000-4,500 seater which would prove to be too small and need rebuilding as soon as we got any success when for not a lot more we could build a stand the size of the east stand that would last a very long time and would be ready for success.

I thought the club did well with the exec boxes? 75% full for the majority of games. Even the top level of the Dimensions stand has people on it virtually every game this season.

Nothing, I was just changing direction of the conversation as I had nothing more to add ;) I agree with you. Plus we have four stands of different heights/capacities so it would be nice to have a new West Stand that's identical to the East Stand whilst we had the chance to.

Sorting the corners out seems to tidy up the stadium and not at the cost of a new stand. Pity we haven't got a penny to scratch our ar$es with though.
