Would you not back Iseka or Cole to score 50 goals in 3 seasons if they played 90 mins every game and took all set pieces?
Do you also think that Woodrow will score 50 in the next 3 seasons ?

I have not read the other post's, but if we drop Woodrow who is good enough to take his place in the team, maybe it would be a good idea to take the captaincy away from him as I have noticed along with one or two who sit around me at Oakwell he is no performing as good since taking on that role

I like woody...good touch, goal scorer brings players in games with good link play.
This season he has been poor....i would drop him on his present form for sure...but he will be back.

My own truth is that Woodrow is only full of talent / useful if it drops nicely for him to hit it.

    Then he's good.

OK it dropped for him today one time and he didn't score, but at least it was on target. Victor then went on to show him how to finish in another phase. Let's face it - Cauley's headed miss was turgid .

Woodrow is holding us back at the moment.

He may come good later on. But at the moment I can't see how he benefits the team by being first pick.

Having said that, Helik's defending for their first goal was worse than Woodrow's ever done.

The second goal was lucky, the third clever if you have turned the opposition into statues.

Our players aren't good enough and we will be relegated unless the new bloke is even smarter than either Struber or Val

Carlton Morris hasn't played a game since Coventry probably shouldn't have started but we're that desperate.

Woodrow has played every minute of every game this season and has scored less than vic or fresier in open play. And the miss today was embarrassing.

no. Nothing in their longer term career suggests that. Morris is unlikely to be fit enough from injury long enough to score at the rate. Unless we can solve the niggling problems that dog him. Iseka his pre Barnsley scoring record is poor. This season he has 3 in 13 so far so not bad not great.

He had three chances today: The free kick straight into the wall, the shot from the edge of the box was weak, and the header inside the 6-yard box hit the post.

Iseka is very much worth persisting with.
Cole won’t score 50 goals at this level if he plays from now until he’s 40.
Feel free to bump this in 15 years time.

Had Woodrow scored 50 goals before he signed for us ? Hopefully our new manager will judge things with his eyes.

Cauley 23 in 51 starts so almost 1 in 2
Iseya 17 in 44 playing In League.

I like Iseya and enjoy watching him play but suspect he will be as scorer of great goals rather than a great goal scorer. Hopefully I’m wrong though. At the minute I would be playing 2 forwards Iseya and Morris but we working on getting Cauleys head back in the game.

Still hoping that our new manager uses his eyes for team selection.

From what I’ve seen of Styles in CM, I think he needs a defensive mid alongside or behind him, to get the best out of him. I’d also say the same for Benson. Would much rather see him further forward than trying to play as a quarterback. So, was staggered to read that Palmer was actually the most advanced of the three CMs in the first half. Agree entirely about the need for experience. We’re trying to develop Palmer, Styles, Benson, Hondermarck, Gomes and have Kane out on loan. I think the club would ultimately benefit by selling one or two of those and bringing some experience in.

As for Woodrow. He’s reminding me of watching the cricket when a batter is woefully out of nick. Not middling many. Unfortunately his returns after lockdown have been significantly reduced compared to before. I think he was lucky to start ahead of Iseka today, and would given him a run out of the starting 11, but would expect him to get back in at some stage.

Iseka easily looks our best striker but didn’t start today? Absolutely crackers, hope we see him Wednesday or I’ll be proper vexed like.

Iseka maybe but not convinced Cole would.

Unfortunately, Cole has missed 3 sitters in his recent run in the side. Always going to be vulnerable to being dropped when you do that.

So, 3 pages in and no one has definitively shown me why Woodrow is playing.

All I've seen is "he was good" and "he will come good again".

Doesn't help us now, does it.

I wouldn"t back Victor or Frieser to get 50 goals in their whole careers , I do not know if Iseka would , possibly yes but Devante would probably struggle although I do like him & feel he has had a raw deal this season . Woodrow is far & away our best striker but he is struggling at the moment but so are the whole team , I just think its the confidence of the whole group which is having a negative affect on all the players but the fans have to have a scapegoat & currently it is Woodrow ,the trouble is that when he is hounded out of the club the same fans will be demanding a big fee for him which is totally hypocritical .

Admittedly no, but we don't really have other options. As you've said, at least he does have goals to his name.
