Thought he was absolutely shocking today. Three, yes three, times in the first half we got fantastic balls in from the left slap bang across the six yard box and behind their defenders, all just begging to be put home by the centre-forward. On all three occasions this tortoise of a striker had barely reached the penalty area. That followed multiple mis-controls and sideways attack slowing passes.

To be fair to him on his Deedar interview, he's right. If I did know anything about football I wouldn't keep turning up and watching him every week!

And at least he put a modicum of effort in, which is a helluva lot more than could be said for Vic.

He was nowhere near shocking, both him & Morris worked their nuts off, it makes me smile that nothing is said about Iseka who never broke sweat & Victor who contributed absolutely nothing despite only having about 30 minutes where he could have made an impact against tiring defenders but he never got on the ball or made any runs at all .

I thought he was, which is my prerogative, one shared by everyone I was with. You're welcome to your opinion too which is why the world works, sometimes.

As a goal-scoring striker he was truly awful, again. The bare minimum I expect from a footballer on £3-400k is effort, that should actually be a given. Quality, pace, meaningful passes, hurting the opposition, getting on the end of opportunities all missing unfortunately.

As for Iseka and Vic, I have made the same points that 'make you smile' in the thread about subs, so that point is palpably wrong.

I respect your opinion but to say Woodrow lacks effort is not really true, even if things are not going well he works hard, tries his best & more to the point he never hides , he is struggling & so are the team but he is proven championship & cream always rises to the top , his form will return but I only hope it is before the boo boys drive him out otherwise another team will benefit from his ability .

Morris and Woodrow linked well until Morris understandably faded second half. Makings of a good partnership. Iseya was the worry today. Nothing came off for him.

Vic did almost nothing when he came on.

I thought he worked hard, as he always does to be fair. Several times he chased back deep into our own half. But imo in the first half his touch was often poor and for me he's generally coming too deep. We need goals - get in the opposition box Cauley ffs!
But the thing that frustrated me most about him today was that in the final few minutes when we had a goal kick he was gesturing to Collins and defenders to slow the game down. It's the captain's job to drive the team on somehow get that extra effort out of the team. He didn't show the leadership we need right now. We're adrift and should be seeking 3 points in every home game, not settling for one, irrespective of the opposition, particularly when they're mediocre like today.

Glad he got the full 90 under his belt, we need him firing if we're going to stay up

I meant from his own high standards. First half he was unplayable second he was still pretty decent.

No. I went in the nets, whilst our goalie got treatment.. Pulled off a couple of blinding saves, then it was half time. Added up to half hour. Popped one in early second half, nowt special, bit scrappy actually, for me.. :)

I do believe we would benefit if Cauley stayed around the centre circle when we are defending, and the penalty spot area when we are attacking, he does waste energy and effort in unnecessary areas of the pitch!

Must admit it makes me laugh hearing Woodrow accuse fans of being fickle , same fans that bought season tickets to pay his wages knowing they wouldn’t see a game , they’ve just got a Manager the sack , second from bottom and as Captain he comes out bleating about a few fans giving him stick because he’s underperforming. If that’s his attitude as Captain in the dressing room he needs to go even if he is , on form , our best player

Barnsley fans are pretty fickle. No surprise our best season was spent behind closed doors free of negative influences and boo boys
