We have to keep Danny and give him the time to rebuild. He inherited a team of losers and a big clear out is required. The person to blame for setting in motion our decline is none outer than the Invisible Man from Wombwell Patrick Cryne.
That is the standard reaction from any football fan when things are not going well. Hows about sacking the board as they have been solely responsible for all of the managerial appointments.
And knew what buttons to press as he'd worked with them before. Shame he couldn't repeat what he'd done when the new season started.
Wilson should have had an ultimation, keep us up, keep your job, or re apply at the end of the season if we are relegated. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Exactly what he did two decades ago means nothing in 2014. We can only go on the here and now and so far it's been no better than under Hill. At least if we'd gone down last season we could have said we gave our all and went down with a fight. When we go down this season the same can't be said due to negative tactics.
Exactly what I posted earlier in week. They may ave been lesser quality as they were also last season but they were inspired last year to work hard . Nothing near this season
Yes, I wish Pete Doyle was still here with his millions. Or Sean Lewis. Any of those as they were both multi-millionaires who funded the club out of their own pocket.
If Wilson is that good how come he keeps getting the sack. He has not shown any leadership since he came, and his tactics have been awful. We have never set up to win only not to lose, a big difference. The club is now at its biggest crossroad for years. We need to be ambitious because Barnsley fans deserve better. The board needs to sit back and take a long look at what is required. I personally would like to see a clear out and start from scratch
And that would have meant, as it did last season, a pre-season full of uncertainty. Had we stayed up Danny would have been on another Club's radar or might have delayed, as Flitcroft did last year, signing a contract for next season. Contract negotiations with current players or players we might have wanted would have been placed on hold and if we hadn't wanted Danny to stay we would then have been looking for another manager.
Would you be prepared for back to back relegation scraps. New manager AND a wholesale clear out of playing staff, and new coaching staff would seem to me to suggest that we'd have to prepare for a season of struggle.
Well, that's part of the reason I imagine he was brought back. Who else would be given sufficient time to put things right? I don't think he has necessarily done a "poor job" simply because we are likely to be relegated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Can't believe anyone who has been watching us at home give him any backing. Could have been so different. Ipswich at home, 2-0 up, go negative with 10 mins to go and throw away 2 points for example, and that's one of his better games been a throw away.
For me the club needs to have a new business model & that must involve bringing through home grown players, as well as greater commercial awareness. So many things around Oakwell are a total disgrace & Mansford has done nothing this season to change them, other than a bit of PR bull. The unwillingness of all our managers in recent years to bring through our own players has been our main failing. That is how we used to survive. Even Stones didn't get his chance till it was time to move him on almost... Whoever manages us next season should be expected to bring through young players, instead of all the crap loanees we have had this season. Only Ramage has been worth his salt & he was a season long loan, with very little chance of going back to his parent club.
