Are you two basing your opinion of a 21 with 5 games under his belt on getting caught in possession once and making a rash challenge?

Out of interest did you watch the Bournemouth, Hull and Borough games??

I respect you immensely but you seem on some sort of wind up. Do you concur or am I widely off the mark? I ask because I value your posts and level headed opinion.

I agree it was a poor challenge DB. I thought it was more him wanting to recover his mistake and make sure it didn't cost a goal rather than him being annoyed though.

    It's 2022, not 1976.

Nastiness in midfield isn't what we need at all.

In the system, we play to get someone else in midfield wouldn't allow us to press as we do.

I also don't understand how anyone can say Wolfe didn't do anything. Oakwell stood when he left the field because everyone could see what he did for the team. He sits a little deeper than Gomes but he can when needed go through the gears and course opposition all sorts of problems. He was a little off it at Pride Park but today back on it against Premier league level players. Seri, 18 million and linked with Barcelona before signing for Fulham. Reed, a very good player and Tom Cairney, Fulhams Captain fantastic came on in the second half.

I wasn't suggesting that the other midfielder play alongside Wolfe I was suggesting we need another option to sub on when he goes off other than the lightweights Palmer and Benson.

What's killed us is singing Bassi and Quina on January 31st instead of January 1st.

We wasted a month of **** results for no reason.

That's a common misconception. Admittedly the view on tv is good, and of course there's the advantage of replays, etc. But when I'm in the ground I use a thing called a neck. It allows me to keep a close eye on any player I choose, just by turning my head. It's very good for tracking players off the ball instead of being forced to follow the ball, which understandably is the camera's first priority.

The conclusion I came to today, with a bit of help from my neck, is that Wolfe had a very good game.

I’m not so sure we went to pieces when he went off. But the Benson for Bassi one was a real head scratcher

I thought Wolfe had an excellent game. He isn’t perfect but he breaks play up well does all the simple things well but also can bring the ball out of defence. We looked worse when he came off

I'm not sure if I am one of the two people to whom you refer, but I saw all the games you mention and my opinion of Wolfe is that he has played very well overall and, along with Bassi and Quina, improved our midfield enormously.

No, your not. That's a reasoned appraisal that I fully agree with. It's the DB character that seems to have an agenda against Wolfe for some reason and orsen whatever who i don't think has a clue.

Honest opinion, Mr D. I watched the entire match on Sky and didn't notice Wolfe do anything much until he was yellow-carded. I accept there might be more knowledgeable folk on here who may feel he did some of the unsung dirty work for his teammates, but it didn't register with me. Mitrovich intrigues me. He has the presence of a poor man's Cantona, and you don't exactly see him dashing around to say he has 35 goals for the season. But hopefully he's already done enough to take top scorer. Wilson would have grabbed all the headlines had he not missed that header at the end, but his goal was sublime. I thought our back three were very good. Quina was closely watched, but he and Shirley did well. Morris ran his blood to water. I hope he doesn't have a reaction to this game. I fear he may be a target for Rotherham in Summer.

I think the main issue with Wolfe is that, given his injury record, Poya feels he can’t play him for 90 minutes on Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday. Which is probably right. We needed to sign another midfielder that can step in either as a first choice, or for the odd game. There’d be a case for resting Wolfe on Tuesday for example.

No way is watching the game on sky better than being at a live game, on tv they follow the ball & that is what you see, when you are live at the game your view is panoramic , you can see player movement & the whole picture as to what is happening ,whilst the tv follow the ball & the immediate players around the action & you miss an awful lot of what is going on & that is what annoys me about armchair critics , they do not see the whole picture of the game & judge on what they are fed by commentators , pundits & match day editors .

I thought Wolfe had an excellent game.

I can see him moving on in the summer given he’s out of contract (though I suspect we could get some nominal compensation at a tribunal).

If we’d have signed one perhaps he would have stayed on loan, which would have meant same problem different name.
At least this way he’s learning the game in ‘real time’ and could easily develop into a regular next season.

The problem is that there isn't a case for resting him in favour of any of the likely replacements.
