Martin Wilkinson the cheif scout signed ALL the players mentioned with Shepherds blessing, i agree that Wallwork and Reid are good signings, i dont thinl MC cann is any better than we have

but do you agree, and be straight, that shep has turned the finances around

(ps, i think youre right about football management and the very different beast - although im not sure its quite as different as you think)

remember when shep said his 2 year business plan was to be promoted by the end of the 2nd year (when finances were stable) and it happened in 1 year - does that show lack of ambition?

finally, if the club has, for instance 500k to spend, thats it, what ambition can be shown with no more money?

the same criticisms were made of AR, that he didnt have aplan b and didnt make subs quickly enough. was it you?

I know what you mean

but its a bit sensationalist to say the Wolves & pigs games were the worst ever...I did not go to wolves but I have been to a fair few capitulations home and away that were worse than the pigs game..a few at tranmere spring to mind. Wednesday away when Hart got the boot.

I refuse to slag Davey off until he's had the chance to sign some players and pick his own team. People are too quick to forget we have had several critical injuries / suspensionsin the last few weeks that have cost us dear.

RE: Constructive and Intelligent AS always D/T Or is that the Adult in you

It's Mr DT to you. I also stood in the cold shaking buckets, selling raffle tickets getting abused in super market foyers by knobs with nothing better to do except spend their dole money on no frills beans and scratch cards.
90% of your posts are all anti Barnsley diatribe, yet you call yourself a fan of the club.
You are to BFC what the KKK is to race relations.
I have yet to read a postive post. All you do is continually slag off either Davey, Shepherd, the playing staff, the tea lady cos she stirred your brew the wrong way.
Or if you are having a really bad day all of them at once thrice over.
We could be in the Champ league final 5 nil up againt Real and you'd still whinge.
I hope your black blokes **** looks like marvin haggler in a roll neck sweater.

so what you're saying is that andy ritchie showed lots of ambition

by getting us promoted a year early despite having a limited budget and then he got sacked...

At the moment plan a is just go out on the p[ark and try not get beat by too many, before plan A was try to score more goals than they do. Didnt work alot of the time but at least it was worth watching, now it aint working and it aint worth watching either.
I really do hope that we can turn things around ,but I cant see it happening, where as bafore I always had hope.
No-one thought that this season was going to be a breeze, we all knew that we would struggle, but I did think we would at least put up a fight.

He's not better than Howard or Togwell

But a better option than Wroe.

MW likely recommended the signings but its the manager that decides to take them or not ( a commitee in this case..no doubt SD was a contributory voice)

read my otehr posts before making assumptions. as ive stated i reckon we sacked AR too early, we should have bought players and given them to him to use (if he wasnt prepared to sign anyone), i think he did a great job getting us promoted but, i think, on balance, he was too loyal to his squad.

think thats what they are doing now isnt it?

remember, we only had a couple of days after AR went to get in loans, and the best one was stabbed!

andy ritchie wanted to sign a string of players

none of which came off. so logically that means that the BOARD were too loyal to the players because they wouldnt sanction the funds.

RE: We were lucky.. nt

andy ritchie was lucky for 49 games over the space of 9 months. if only he'd bought a lottery ticket every week we might have been able to sign some of those many players that he asked for funds for.
