do you know the reasons why he changed his mind? lets consider the possibility that he was told he could have the player but that it would be his total budget for the season gone. would you still blame him for changing his mind?

Carry on living in cloud cuckoo land

We were lucky last season end of.

Look at our results post coclchester at home.

    3 or 4 good performances.

If AR had been consistantly denied the funds to sign players then explain why he never said so and has not said since?

We were lucky I agree, but if the board had backed Ritchie

in the run up then we would have been much stronger, but no, we sell our ever present defensive midfielder and startconceding more goals!

And if you believe the stuff about World Cup ambitions then you really are clueless.

    You Forgot !! D/TT

My verbal and scribed persicution of the elderly steward in the East stand and the half time draw guy at the top of the car park who i gave a nasty stare , my posts have been negative and full of vitriol [do you know what that means??] towards the club over thelast FEW days because i am disgusted with the club and want yo see change , thats why i am so hacked off at the moment, as is my opinion. Now go away and dream about your blatant homosexual fantas's with black men which you seem to add to mall your posts when people dont agree with you..

    He wanted to sign him

then he changed his mind. to quote AR "I was advised not to sign him"

You cant have it both ways.

Sheff Utd though he was worth it.

    So who let him go?

I think it was AR. It was he that said in the media about his world cup ambitions and his reluctance to stop him.

You claim he had no backing from the board but you cannot substantiate it.

How much of a gamble is £125k to a premiership team?

Not much, would have been a huge gamble for Ritchie with his extremely tight budget. You're talking B*ll*cks, Cazim Richards was a League 1 reserve at the time and so a huge risk.

    However

The board were prepared to sign him if Richtea wanted him.

So did the board back him or not??

And to be fair "league 1 reserve"

Burns himself stated that he left because Warsaw were

offering him a 2.5 year contract, Barnsley were not prepared to offer him more than 1 year and at considerably lower wages than he would get at Warsaw. The 2.5 years would see him finished in Europe and able to take his family, financially secure, back to Oz to see out the remainder of his career. World Cup ambitions, part of the smokescreen, he had virtually no chance without 3 or 4 injuries to the Oz squad, they had some good midfielders.

All this stuff is out there if you can be bothered to look for it.

agreed, we can all be accused of laziness and just recycling old stuff that "we've heard", or read on here. the problem is, we never then know the true origins. At the time Burns left AR said, it is better to let a player go than keep a player who doesnt want to be at a club. i reckon andy is right on that.

    So.

You are prepared to believe that the manager has no bearing on the terms of players contract and does not make a recommendation to the directors?

Maybe burns was on an inordinate salary (because he was signed under PR) and wanted more money / the same?

You seem quite keen to believe any hypothesis that supports AR. I suggest you open your mind.

In any case AR's fault lies in his failure to replace Burns.

i just like his style of play, i can forgive a lot for that entertainment, but, i think in the end, the board made the right decision. as for terms, i think youre right

I haven't said anything that isn't in the public domain, while you haven't said anything original, just toeing the line.
