Thats crap because he is appreciated here as we offered him improved terms on a 2 year deal which he openly signed! Do you think if he had a ***** season he would be saying lower my wages?!!?!?!? He is only entitled to look if the club do not want him/give him permission and just because we have not offered him a new deal now does not mean we do not want him! What about the rest of the players who have 1 year left should we offer them a new deal, do those players get PC saying they are worth 10 million?
If we want to keep them , then yes we should offer them a new deal now. If we dont want to keep them , fair enough. I think its crazy that we have not sat down and had discussions with Howard, all we have done is say this is what we are offering and left it at that. Ask him about the negotiations he has had.
the majority do appreciate it but do not think that he is the be all and end all of the club! Some will think he is overrated and has taken a lot of the glory for the clubs good season. If he styas he has to do it all again this year and I cannot see him having a season like last year which means his value is at its highest now! I think Da Silva is a better all round midfielder, if and I do stress the word IF he is whinging about been at the club not wanting to be here etc then why sign a 2 year contract on improved terms? The fact is it is all rumours and he is still presently at the club!
he signed a 2 year deal knowing that whatever happened he had that deal, so because he has had a good season do we have to enter contract talks with him? I just cannot beleive he thinks he is not appreciated by the club just becaus ewe have not offered him a new deal! Like I said he signed a 2 year deal and had a ***** season would he been asking for lower wages.............No he would want to keep to his terms for that contract he signed! If he wants to go let him go on a free at the end of the season then BUT nobody knows what the situation is with him and the club!!!
and without Steele we would not have played Chelsea and without Hassel, Souza, Devaney , KO, Van Hommett and the rest of the team we would not have got to the Semi's................the team got us there not one individual! Howard took the glory for the FA cup run which is fair enough and he has had a great season but if he acts and thinks like he is better than the club then that is extremely arrogant to the manager, chairman and more importnantly to the fans! If he signed a new deal great, if we make him wait until the end of the season then great as he is still at the club, if he moves then good luck to him he deserves a chance at top flight football like all players do but to move to another club in the championship I think shows he does not believe in the club and its chances this season then it is a huge kick in the teeth to the club and fans! on the flip side some fans think he is overrated others think he can do no wrong, Yes he is a good laker but he is not the be all and end of the club as fromt he spounds of things he thinks he is?
Some times this board is beggars belief.
Howard was one of the best midfielders in the league last season, Without his goals and ability we would have got relegated.
What do clubs do when there best players are about to start the last year on there contracts, offer them a new one. If i was him id be wondering why were doing nothing to keep him here for longer. The guy has been linked with moves to big premiership teams, he is a quality player and should be kept here for as long as possible.

well he be here for at least one more season under the contract he signed at the start of last season and then if he wants to move at the end of the season he can do! It is beyond me how players will openly sign a deal knowing that they have that deal regardless of how they perform and they are happy to ask for a new deal when it goes well but do not turn around and say they want a new deal on lower wages because they have been ***** or hardly played! Good player but why should we offer him a new deal and not other players in there final year of contract?
RE: well he be here Good player but why should we offer him a new deal and not other players in there final year of contract?
You have answered your own question there, we should be offering him a new deal because he is a good player and one every championship club will be after when his current deal runs out.
He is a player we should go all out to keep at this club, we would be looking forward to league one football now if it wasn't for his goals last season.

Personally i think Foster should be captain because howards doesn´t get on with half of the squad, anderson cant speak english, i heard on radio sheffield that dennis has to translate for him. Hassell has done it b4 so he might b a good choice but i think Foster is capable for the job
RE: well he be here You mean his 6 outfield goals? Lets face it, non of the clubs mentioned want him. He's making the noises, no-one else. I think Patrick Crynes comments just about sum up the whole ordeal. Brian Howards worth £10m and Frank Lampards only worth £8m (blagger).
i noticed at glossop though that he's not a very vocal captain, hardly heard him say a word throughout first half. andy johnson seemed to take control on the pitch. now im not saying this makes him a bad captain, just think we could do with someone a bit more vocal on the pitch
to say if it was not for howards goals we would be relegated is something we'll never know as it is hindsight, if we had Paul Hayes (one of the best pen takers I've ever seen) still would he have not scored the pens which made up thw majoirty of his goals? Howard has had a great season and is a good player but is not the be all of BFC and like other players at the club who have had good seasons he is out of contract at the end of the year i.e. Souza, Macken, Campbell-Ryce, Devaney, Hassell Like I've said he has a 2 year deal which he openly signed happy with the terms if he had a ***** season or was injured he would not be asking for less money. He is good but not that good for the club to move heaven and earth to keep as he has to stay for at least another year if the club do not want to sell which he cannot moan about unless we are turning down prem clubs because he sign a 2 year deal.................simple as that! Don't get me wrong I'd love for him to sign a new deal to keep him at the club but at the same time no player is biggger than the club or should make demands of the club i.e. more money! Lets get this straight he is not saying lets discuss a new longer term deal here because I love it here, he is simply asking for more money on a new deal with no doubt some clause in there for him to move on!
