Honda Accord 2.2 CTDi ... Saloon or estate probably get an 'Executive' model for £14k, SAT NAV etc plus 50mpg and they go like stink!
RE: vaux vectra Ive got the 2.2 diesel estate (I am that rep) absoluteley pisses the miles (30k a year) and loadsa space
Does it suddenly cut out when doing 90 on the motorway? We had a fleet of em at work and nearly every one of the turbo diesels had the fault. The fleet is Passatts now.

and... ...likely to be the only car to emerge out of Chamonix tomorrow if the weather forecast is to be believed.
Mine used to cut out at 15mph .......... ..... turned out to be split breather hose.
It's a 2004 2.0DTI estate and is a huge car, loads of space and comfortable. However, I couldn't recommend it because of a litany offaults: split hoses (twice), LCD display failure, broken rear springs, cruise-control U/S, PAS pump failure - all of which wouldhave cost me a fortune if it wasn'ta company car - and it's only done 30K miles

They are great cars when they dont have faults which unfortunately they have loads of. Like you say they are massive, fantastic motorway beasts and workhorses but unfortunately as dozens of people at work found out they are apt to fall over for one reason or another.
