The fact he is only worth what people pay is only a pertinent point when you’re actively trying to sell. If this asking price is true then the club would have to justify why they’d rather have 2.5m incoming than Cauley Woodrow in the squad. Almost as if they want league 1
Thing is the unsupported rumours of our players being sold on the cheap at the worst possible time and then not replaced have an uncanny habit of being spot on and that habit has reached addiction levels since the 80% mob got their grubby little fingers on the club. But no doubt we'll get the usual spin from the club of the player wanted to go we had no choice the fee will be undisclosed the spin doctor will come on here spreading the bull **** and the happy clappers will lap it up and tell the rest of us the board had no option because Bolton Bury Wigan Macclesfield etc etc and if we don't like it we should go watch Man City etc etc.
A bit touchy there whitey but If the cap fits. BTW I wasn't actually meaning you It was more aimed at the senior happy clappers who spread the gospel according to the 80% percent mob for free I make allowances for you because it's your job.
SR intimated that YTBFC is a spin doctor for BfC. The pic is the spin doctors. They had an album called "you've got to believe in something".
........and whilst I could be accused of being a fan who wants the best for the club, I'm not looking to spread anybody's gospel.
In all fairness, I didn't think you meant Whitey, either. If I did, there's no way I'd have 'liked' the post. But you didn't and I do.
We hardly ever replace better, if at all. We always sell players below their value and nearly all players are bought on the cheap and with prospect of future on sale value as opposed to buying players that will almost certainly have a positive affect on league position. Its a player farm, and were not even good at it.
I was what would have been regarded as a happy clapper but as of today I'm far from it. In 60+ years that this club has been a large part of my life I've NEVER been as disillusioned as I am today. Even in the dark days of the bottom of div 4, we the fans knew that those in control were doing their best to manage the assets for the long term benefit of the club. And they were straight with us. I just don't get that feeling now. Not a week ago the CEO acknowledged our weakness up front and promised it would be dealt with. Now we hear that yet another of the dwindling number of players we know is capable at this level, our most prolific striker, is about to be sold for a pittance - despite same CEO also stating that no other players would be sold unless for "silly" money. (I should have realised that silly in yankspeak means ridiculously SMALL.) OK this may not prove correct, but this board and this CEO have form so it will only be a surprise to the fans if Cauley stays. Assuming he does go, that means to keep his word the CEO will then have until Tuesday to sign two strikers of better quality than Cauley - one direct replacement and one to cover the previously acknowledged vacancy.
