The most worrying thing is the amount of very long standing reds fans echoing you thoughts. But the 80% mob won't care
"ONE WINNER AND ONE LOSER IF CARDIFF CITY FINALISE SWOOP FOR CHAMPIONSHIP ATTACKER Winner: Kieffer Moore The Cardiff target man is expected to lead the line throughout the season and he would certainly benefit from playing alongside Woodrow. That’s because the Barnsley forward is smart with his movement and he will help create chances for the big man, who will be the focal point that the 25-year-old can play off. Potentially, they could form a very strong partnership at this level." https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/o...ity-finalise-swoop-for-championship-attacker/ Do you think he even knows that they've played together?
I hope the £2.5m figure mentioned is nothing more than speculation from the reporter and that our owners generate some goodwill with fans this week by refusing any offers less than £5m and instead strengthen the team by signing 2 or 3 players, including a strong striker. I hope all the concerns on here are unfounded and that by the end of the week there's a lot more positivity about the season ahead. I want to believe that our owners have had a watershed moment and that things will be different from now on. I have absolutely zero evidence to suggest any of that might be true but I'm again (for the umpteenth time) going to give them the benefit of the doubt, at least until the end of the week. I'm feeling very concerned and doubtful but I still want to cling onto some belief - for a few days more.
Feels unlikely sadly. Look at how our approaches for Whiteman were reported, and how far the two clubs were from each other in their valuations. In this instance the local journos are reporting that talks are ongoing (why are we even talking to them?!) along with a quoted valuation.
Not having a manager in place doesn't help with moulding together a decent squad. I'd expect the worst and then be very pleasantly surprised if we strengthen our squad significantly. Just can't see it happening though.
I admire your optimism but don't think it will happen . Replace the names Lynsey, Pinnock ,Moore and Stendel with Brown, Woodrow and Mowatt and Struber and you know what I think will happen ...Different actors but same script which will have the same ending. This time relegation
Yes ,as I said same plot but different players. If by the end of the transfer window Woodrow and Mowatt are still here I will be astounded . We will get the same speech from the owners as to the reasons why they went...last season, wanted to go etc but those excuses wore thin ages ago. If they go as all the rest have gone then I won't be renewing my season ticket again next time as enough is enough for me . I have become totally peed off at the lack of ambition shown by these owners who have no interest in football or respect for football fans.
Just giving this a mini-bump as it seems quite likely that Cauley's going and that nobody or a nobody is coming in (even then, if CW goes we would actually then need 2 nobodies as we need a nobody now, anyway!) I hope we sign a somebody nobody's heard of and a somebody that is likely absolutely Schmidt. If we sell CW, the writing is on the wall; if you can't see that, then, fùck me.
Daft if we even entertain it considering it looks like we won’t bringing a striker in nevermind a decent one. Due to the status of our squad no matter what they offer is unreasonable as our squad is so paper thin. Explain that to Cauley if he does well another club will still want him in Jan and probably sell for more money then as clubs panic buy in Jan. Great to see we have learned from last season though.
For me its not so much if he leaves, its the timing and the fact we won't be replacing him that's so frustrating.
