    anybody can approach players so close to their contract expiring

    If Barnsley have decided to wait and end up missing the boat because another team has nipped in and signed him then they have nobody else to blame but themselves because the opportunity is already their to make enquiries.</p>

    Here's a thought

    Last close season , we made a big press announcement with the signings of Brian Howard , Paul Hayes & Richard Kell . Soon after , Scnuthorpe United took legal action ( subsequently dropped ) against us claiming we'd obviously made illegal approaches to thier players ( Kell in particular ) .
    Could it be that the club has learnt it's lesson and is keeping it's cards close to the chest to avoid any potential repetitions ? This would then mean no "official" comment on transfers will be made until everything is signed , sealed and delivered .

    With the ambition of the previous Chairman did we get promoted????? .. No.

    The club is well run now and has moved forward drastically over the last few months. They have invested in a team not just individuals, long may it continie.

    And yes I think Chopra would be a great signing but not at all costs.
