RE: The line rental's included mate.

    You sure about that?
When I read the contract, I still had to pay the BT line rental and I'm sure this is the case.....unless I'm very much mistaken!

I always thought it was the Carphone Whorehouse.

    Thoroughly disappointed.

    RE: 460Gig in 1 month!!!

I can quite easily get 40Gb per day - so 460Gb in a month isn't too bad. The majority of that amount was from fake banks using various software courtesy of Artists against 419 -http://wiki.aa419.org/index.php/Main_Page

    RE: Reight.

    How can you lose indeed!

It does seem a good deal - too good infact.

I've used ADSL before, and I wasn't too impressed with it - Cable seems a lot more stable & reliable.

You've only got to read some of the forums that specialise in bargain ADSL ISP's to realise that they are not always as good as they may first appear.

    With a look of bewilderment.

The security guards moved in pretty quickly.

    * Subject to a fair usage policy

All service providers are introducing fair usage policies - mainly because BT are now charging them for Bandwidth as well as a fixed charge per ADSL Connection.

Additionally, because download speeds are now so high, customers are "maxing out" their connections and generally slowing down the system (as well as forcing to ISP's to purchase extra bandwidth from BT at huge costs).

I can't really see how Talk Talk are going to sustain 8Mb speeds (@ 40GB per month) for free. Presumably, they have to pay BT in exactly the same way as any other ISP (otherwise it is one hell of loss leader that could put them out ot business). There will be traffic shaping of some description.

Bearing in mind it is "Free", it will be difficult to complain if it is crap. For light usage, I would imagine it will be OK.

Just been on Working Lunch on BBC2

Only negatives they raised were connection charges and 18-month contract with cancellation charges. Oh, and possible delays for new users due to high demand in the next month or so.

They had a few problems yesterday

    http://news.independent.co.uk/business/news/article357252.ece

    I like the BT comment......
BT said: "This is only 'free' if you pay them hundreds of pounds a year for other services. It is just a clever marketing ploy."

Do they mean the hundreds of pounds you'd have to pay anyway and not end up getting internet access?
