Do you think that I am some kind of simpleton who posts things that do not represent my opinion? Do you think that I have nothing better to do? Do you think that my purpose in life is to wind others up? May I suggest that you try posting something that represents a contrary opinion or argument to mine, if you think i'm mistaken. Something based upon what you saw at the match today. Rather than hiding behind the simple idea that your opinion is right and that nobody else has a right to think differently to you. How about simply expressing your view? That goes for others on this thread (and others) who simply denigrate the posts of others without actually explaining anything at all.
Contrary Opinion: If you're going to win Promotion you have to win games ugly by scrapping for them. We're not all Barcelona or Real Madrid. Pretty football is all well and good but in our position winning is what matters! Happy now?
I didn’t quite see those incidents in the same light as you but I do see where you’re coming from. We’re certainly limping over the line. But there’s only 4 games left. All of them are winnable, even on our current form. The most pleasing thing for me today was some of the attacking approach play. Actiually led to us scoring 4 goals, which is more than I thought we might score before the end of the season! I think the players will take heart from today and it might, just might, get us over the line. Which for the avoidance of doubt, means 2nd.
Well it did seem as though if they scored, then we could shoot up the other end and keep us safe. Nevertheless our defending was absent in many instances today. It could have been a Sunderland type result at Oakwell quite easily. Posting such an opinion seems however to be forbidden. I can see us winning at home, but losing away with performances like that. Which won't be good enough.
We were comfortably better than Fleetwood but it is worth noting that had their striker had his shooting boots on, that could easily have been 4-4 and we'd be fuming and of the opinion that we'd blown it. We were once again in cruise control but didn't quite kill the game off, but it didn't matter as Fleetwood posed little threat. A better team may have got back into it mind, so whilst the performance was good, we do need to manage games carefully and kill teams off more swiftly.
We all know each other from our posts on here. Our character develops and reveals from our posts. I'm not as good as others are on here, in remembering how much has been revealed by previous posts. But I am strong in believing that if you post something, then you should be held accountable for it. I'm all for subsequent apologies, and accepting them too, if you find out your post was wrong. Precious few do that on here. The precious ones do. Anyway, you are judged on your words on this forum. I have no need to know you.
Bloody hell, that's deep. Believe it or not, I actually agree with what you are saying. I am always willing to admit to my errors but in this case it was more of a misunderstanding. I hope you appreciate that. We'll probably never meet but if we did I bet it we'd get along better than you think!
Let's not forget we had 17 shots though. (7 on target) it's easy to say the other team could have had more, but so could we. It would be lovely to win easily and not have any dodgy moments, but it's a rare thing. Even when we were supposedly better, earlier in the season we didn't always have it our own way.
You probably sit next to me in the ground, didn't know it, and think I'm a ****. Which means you'd get on well with the wife.
Unfortunately, for reasons I'll not go into, I can guarantee I don't sit next to you but I don't think you're a ****. However, I'm sure your wife is a lovely person.
Bit harsh to me, if you don't mind me saying. I just think there is nervousness in our play at times, at other times today we were brilliant. Decision making more the problem than our play. Fleetwood's set piece delivery was excellent, we gave a lot of free kicks away that they eventually capitalised on, many of which I thought were from that nervousness (rash tackles, sloppy passing etc). I reckon we've been spoilt over the middle part of the season with the way we've restricted many teams to very few chances. Other teams will get chances, to me that's football and it makes the games more tense and exciting. Could also argue that Davies kept us in the game with 2 or 3 great saves in the second half, payback for his error in the first half.
No argument with that. We had to work hard for the points and I think it's fair to say there was some relief at the final whistle. But we were the better side and deserved the win.
