RE: Thanks for that cazi! I've had the same problem with mine. Work determined that the use of the other room was a case of marking her scent to deter new cats in the area from entering the flat. The washing powder cured that, but she continued to use her tray when clean, then go at the side of it after a couple of days. The only way I cure it is to clean her tray more often and put less litter in when it is clean.
RE: Thanks for that cazi! She used to always go outside until neighbours got a big alsatian, they've moved out a few years back but she still insists on shitting in the house (and then goes out after a particularly smelly one!)
