RE: Why not make Because it'll waft up and give everyone lung cancer. Also it'll taint the taste of the succulent pies.
Something like that Would in my eyes not be ideal but that is me being selfish. as a compromising person i would welcome such a move. Its a pity that the club for 24 whole months have ignored the question/suggestion. And gordon shepherd does know my feelings on the matter, he just refused to answer me. The home section of the north stand and first bloke of the east stand would be the ideal place to have it in my mind. With the family stand moving to where it should be in the first place. The home end of the east stand so that the kids can get a proper feel for the atmosphere and not just be stuck in the far corner out of the way.
Personally I think that is far less healthy The seats are open, the smoke goes away. Underneath it can get trapped and they serve food there. I think that part should be non smoking.
i believe that he does care more about executive fans though thus the new executive mascot, executive player of the year presentation (which was only changed to being on the pitch after complaints) and other moves.
It's a total rip off And they're just not interested in changing it. And while I'm at it, £20 for the cheapest ticket in the ground for a Cat A game. Utter ********.
RE: Sorry Shefftyke Burger of inderterminate origin between 2 slices of a bread/tea cake/bap thing £2.60. And of a palatable warmth, akin to if it'd been sat on for 5 minutes. Large Donner, veg, the lot, £3.40 from Gino's. **** out.
RE: It's a total rip off As long as mugs, sorry true fans keep paying out it'll continue. Wonder what profit the catering side (not exec) makes?
As far as I am aware, all catering (including bars and executive suite) are contracted out. So how much say do the club have in pricing/quality etc. Having said that, surely the contract has limits, assurances etc. Why can't we get rid of the contracts (whether by legal means, or when they expire) and run them ourselves. These companies must make a profit from them, why cant the club?
Most clubs do contract out catering. It's less hassle and the difference in profit must be minimal. The problem comes when you lose control of the quality of the grub/service etc and the club gets the grief and can do **** all about it.
perhaps no-one has the experience of running such an operation at the club. I'd do it if they wanted. lol.
but if it's tendered out then the club can pass on such concerns. However it may be a fixed term contract, with penalty clauses to cancel it early, which may be why it seems that nothings being done.
It's always been a shambles, when we got better crowds, they used to run out of pies in the Ponty BEFORE the match had even kicked off, EVERY match, and did they learn their lesson and stock more food, did they heck. Now you can get served but the 'kids' that serve you are clueless and the standard of the food is abysmal. A mate told me that the beer had gone up in the East Stand from £2.30 to £2.80 a pint this season, what's that all about? Glad there isn't a bar in the Ponty if that's the latest rip-off
Hmmm as a licensee, i could tell you but I don't drink draught at any large venues! That does seem a little steep.
