They get caught and get sent to kennels, cats don't. I've trained our Ringo to chase cats off, he's the boss of our street.
The feral dog population is very small. While the estimated feral cat population in the UK is in the millions. And is a serious issue for conservation. Dog **** in nature reserves can be a problem, increasing nutrient levels. And of course there are human health issues.
easily solved.... fill empty two litre pop bottles with water, take the label off and leave them around the garden. Dont know why it works it just does
yeah i agree he is one bad boy! No cats would mess with him cos he would mess them up big time! He could be the face of our new party?
My cat uses a litter tray.....used to go out until terrorised by a great big alsatian that it's owners used to keep couped up in a small yard all the time and never walked it.
i heard that before too but i would need about 12 crates of bottles with the amount of skinky filthy cats around here!
Sounds like mine...she used to be happy wandering about until next door's Doberman's scared her off. As you say, they never get walked either, well except when the gate is open and they run round to ours to try and get food. They just spend all day in the next door garden (and night actually) barking stupidly loudly, until the owner shouts at them. Repeat all day/night. Great fun when you can't get to sleep
RE: The feral dog population Sorry, are we talking about feral or pets? The difference, and it is why there is a difference in law, is that you cannot train a cat like you can a dog, so there isn't the same owner responisbility for their actions.
you make a good point DJ so basically dogs are an extenstion of our familys, where as cats are just menaces kept by owners to make sure other cats dont **** in there gardens?
RE: The feral dog population Utter Garbage. Thats like saying you can't take responsibility that your pet lion has killed someone becasue they can't be trained. If you can't control your cat not to kill the local bird population/**** in neighbours gardens/keep the neighbourhood up all night screeching... then you shouldn't be allowed to keep one. You don't need a cat, you just want one.
RE: The feral dog population So not being able to train a creature to do what you want it to do, because it is independant and a free thinker, means the animal lacks intelligence?
RE: The feral dog population "You don't need a cat, you just want one." Errrr....isn't the same exactly true about a dog? And I'll think yuo'll find, that "under law" it is not garbage!
well i disagree i have noticed dog **** is reducing and reducing fast but cat **** its a bad situation when i have to go around the garden checking before i let my kids out incase theres cat **** in the place of play they leave it everywhere and if it was'nt for the wife i would have poisoned them by now. I sat up one night and waiting with a flask of bioling water in the upstairs window and managed to get one at it under the window.
I've never been kept up by a screeching cat But had plenty of interrupted nights due to the fecking dogs barking all night next door and in a few other houses around me
