I just don't think there's a safe way of doing it at all. I'm all for the positive vibe thingy but fire and football stadium ain't a good mix. Even if someone responsible had the flare someone could grab it off them and launch it anywhere, especially if intoxicated

The same goes for smoke bombs in my opinion. I agree with you though, there is no safe way of setting something on fire in a big crowd.

Is there such a thing as an intoxicated reds fan though? Can't say I've never noticed :)

but its the way it lifts the team that matters look what we did with our anthem last season and also 97/98 shows it can be done

No, mate, I'm not suggesting that you did.

I just watched the video and saw the Tenerife fans lobbing the paper tassles past the flares and thought things could have gone wrong, that's all.

Always look out for Tenerife's results as I've been on holiday there more than anywhere else, great island.

Was gutted the other year when they were in La Liga, wanted to go watch a game but there wasn't a game while we were there, we came home on the Friday & they played Barca on the Sunday, think it finished 3-2 or 4-3 to Barca too so missed a cracker!

It'd be great to get a similar atmosphere at Oakwell but it'd be hard to, I sit in the east upper & where I am you feel out of place standing up surrounded by old people.

If you want to see some proper support from fans have a look on youtube for Malaka Hinchas (Malaka is the old spelling of Malaga)
Malaga have just been awarded "The number 12 trophy" for the team with the best supporters in La Liga from the LFP ---like UKs FA.
