CD writer help please!

    Wont that just uninstall the drive? How would i reinstall it?

    Aye, but it shouldn't need any drivers if its on an IDE cable.

    Restarting yer machine will pick it up agean.

    When you restart, windows will detect it as new hardware and automatically reinstall.

    It might, just might, cause whatever software that thinks it's using your drive to let go.
