Good day today but I did wonder whether it would lead to some intimating we were about to win the Champions League. All the issues we face as a Club that were prevalent before the game are still the same issues we face after it.
The club's needed one for a quarter of a decade. Not sure they exist. The man with the most experience across playing and coaching at all levels is Nick Eaden. Could do worse but can't imagine it.
It would be madness to give it to him, just based on today's game. As great as that was, what is this, just 1 win in 7. Let's see what if anything, we can gain from the remaining games ehh.
I have to wonder if Connor has been given permission by our ‘font of all knowledge’ director of football to have a bit of a free reign in these last few pointless matches. We played a back four without wingbacks which seemed to add creativity to our midfield three. Played Jalo out wide, from the start, rather than as an impact sub of a striker ( which often fails) and it all just seemed to click today. I think today is the first time, all season, we have hung back to applaud a fine team performance.
Encouraging signs today. He needs another couple of good performances now. Leyton Orient away will be tough. They’re a good side & Reading will in all likelihood be going for the play offs on the final day so that won’t be easy but we’ve got to fancy our chances at home to Shrewsbury & Peterborough.
It wouldn't be madness. Change doesn't happen overnight. He knows what he's doing and he knows what it takes to be successful. He knows the club and he has high standards. It would be madness not to appoint him.
Too early to say yet - but come the evening of Easter Monday, if improvements are seen in the next 2 games, and hopefully results too, he can have it for me.
I think its just a case of different opinions here, even though we obviously do want the same thing. I've just got doubts as to whether Conor is ready yet for this role. And after what's happened, it could turn out to be a massive appointment for the club, when we make it. And we can't just simply give it to him out of sentiment, or because its cheaper, etc.
Disagree mate. Not madness at all. There's been an improvement, regardless of today's result and regardless of the last 4 weeks. Yes the team could go backwards in the next few games but based on what I've seen they'll do ok, again even if they lose. I'm not a happy clapper whatsoever but there are some green shoots there and if there's a chance Hourihane is a decent gardener I'd stick with him. What's the alternative with Sormaz picking the next bloke?
