RIP Charlie A true gentleman who knew how to deal with racism better than anybody. A genuine ambassador for the Tarn who will be sadly missed. In years to come we should put his statue on the plinth in Peel Square.
RE: Charlie Williams passed on . All sithi flower Last saw him last year in Exec. very sad how ill he was.
RIP mi old flower. We were only speaking about him yesterday afternoon, saying what a shame he was so ill these days. He used to sit about 5 rows in front of us in the East Upper up until three or so years ago, and we certainly presumed not seeing him recently meant he had been too ill to come. Lovely old lad. Sorely missed and much loved.
Gutted , met him at Kirk Balk School , when we won the Midland Bank Inter-School quiz in the late '80s.
Top fella

RE: Genuine decent bloke - RIP Charlie As a DRFC player he was always seen as a legend, not only as a footballer and a comedian but as a Yorkshire man. He's no doubt in every Rovers fans thoughts tonight. He will definitley be receiving a minutes silence at our next home game and its a time when both clubs will no doubt put rivalry aside to remember a great ambassador for both sides. R.I.P. Charlie!
lived around the corner from me. Used to sit in front of his bungalow on sunny days passing the time of day with passers by. Went for a walk today to 'res at worsbro, or the way back saw Co-op funeral van outside, feared the worst got the news when I got home. Very sad day.
RE: Charlie Williams Last time I saw him play football, he scored for Donny Rovers at Oakwell. Did an act when he first started with one of the Bedford lads from Upton and then did a few shows with Alick Jeffrey before he hit the big time.
