Same here. Won a few quid at Cheltenham and had a £20 sixfold on last night’s football

Ten minutes to go they were offering £125 cash out but being a greedy f**cker I decided to hold out
    Poor decision
    Wigan scored and chance gone

Decent result on the real whacker today though makes up for it

A nice three yesterday, and a great GN trial from Delta Work.

    1.30 Mighty Potter
    2.50 Shishkin
I'm doubling these two up, given their skinny prices. They both look banker material.
    2.10 Maxuum
    4.10 So Scottish
    4.50 Magical Zoe
    4.50 Princess Zoe
Although Luccia will take some beating in the 4.50 it's a rare coincidence bet for me (being a proud grandad). In case anyone thinks I've completely lost my marbles, both Zoe's are Timeform large 'P' horses (as is Luccia, to be fair). I've combined them for the forecast, as well as singles.
    5.30 Haven't a scooby!

My Lucky 63 (each way) bet in the first six races today:

    1:30 stage star
    2:10 maxxum
    2:50 Blue Lord
    3:30 Blazing Khal
    4:10 Haut en Couleurs
    4:50 Lot of Joy

Then just one in the last:

5:30 Fontaine Collanges e/w single (needs the ground to soften in the afternoon rain but there’s a good amount forecast)

Still not using any actual money, used only the £5 free bet Paddy Power have given me the last three days.

I’ve accumulated nearly £28 cash in the account from the first two days so whatever I return today is just a bonus. I’ve covered having a go again tomorrow and the weekend football bets without spending a penny of my own. Probably cover football bets for another week or two after that too, only normally spend £5 a week.

I’d normally be doing at least £20 a day, maybe £30 for Cheltenham week and I’m not so hard up that I couldn’t be betting some of my money, (recently lost my job and have taken work on a bit less money but we’re ok). I just don’t see the point when I can do it for free and get just as much enjoyment. It’s not like I’d ever be winning loads regardless. The bookies never lose; my Mrs works for one!

I’m working again now, was only out of work a couple of weeks. Trouble was I went from weekly pay to monthly and the first month (this month, got paid Tuesday!) I only got two weeks pay due to when I started, so it will take a month or two to get back on track fully. I was only out of work two weeks and two days, but went 6 weeks without a wage and even then didn’t get that much.

Bit less money overall too but still more than ok. We’ll be fine. Thanks for the sentiment though. I appreciate I’m luckier than some, I managed to sort myself out quickly, I only had a week’s notice too so didn’t have long to react.

As for winners, if they all win it won’t change my life! Might pay for a takeaway if I have another good day! Only got coppers on it really. I just bet on Cheltenham for a bit of fun, not the money. I’m not massively into racing, I look at bits and pieces as my grandad always was into it, but with the Mrs managing a bookies, Cheltenham week is always a topic of conversation in the house as it’s her busiest week (although obviously national Saturday is busier in one day than Cheltenham is in a week), and so I started betting on it.

Only really bet on the national other than Cheltenham, and sometimes the st leger with being from Donny. I used to work at the bowling alley years ago and got tips from the stable lads that came in and it stuck. I’m certainly not a big better, only ever put stakes on that I wouldn’t miss if I lost. And I tend to…

Although typically, given I’m not betting any real money, my lucky 63 yesterday had three winners and three places, not one loser - pretty much the best I’ve ever done, so if I’d have put my usual 20p each way on the 126 bets for a 25.20 stake, I’d have returned more than £150. As it is I bet 3p each way for a 3.78 stake from the free bet and got just over £20. (Obviously didn’t get the stake back). Day one I got just under £8, and it’s given in cash balance too, not free bets.

The other 1.22 of the £5 free bet balance went 61p each way in the last race. They have both lost so far Tuesday and yesterday. I’ve done it the same way today. Whatever I end up with is free money so I can’t grumble. £27.88 so far.

It's the bookies extra place offers and 20p e/w Lucky 15's that have kept me going into Day 3 and part of Day 4. I managed to get Camprond and Bronn e/w yesterday and in a few races I've managed 2nd and 3rd or 3rd, 4th and 6th etc. That's chipped away. I've been backing singles at £2.50 e/w. I had £300 put to one side for the meeting though.

Don't like Shishkin today. Too many questions marks about him to be wading in at a short price. The ground will be similar to when he bombed out last year behind Energumene, and he's had bone issues and the like. I might have an each way poke on Hitman at 33s. The race isn't great though.

That's not a bad bet either. Blue Lord a dodgy stayer. Janadil better first time out. Fury Road wants better ground.

    Up the Hitman.
